The big one from Alberta goes south first for refining. Then back to you guys. Most your gas comes from east coast tankers from the middle east. Refined on the east coast. The line you fruits won't build direct from Alberta would lower your prices.

Actually the gas in Quebec and the Atlantic originates predominantly from Africa, not the Middle East.

The reason Alberta oil is shipped South first is because the oil produced by us tends to be heavy. The oil produced in the Northern US from fracking tends to be extremely light. Mix them together and you have sweet crude that is very easy to transport and refine into stuff you actually want. However, because of all that transport, how cheap it is to move a supertanker, and how the price of Gasoline is really a false price not solely dependent on the cost of the original product, there really isn't much of a cost difference on gasoline at the station where ever it came from. The price is determined by the distance to the refinery and the price set by the oligarchy of large service stations in that area.

This is why Quebec doesn't really care about building the new pipeline. They only get the benefits from the construction but they already have the refinery so they won't see any further benefits after that. It's extremely selfish but that's how provinces act.

Anywho, lets cut the east versus west Canada crap. It doesn't apply to Hockey right now. @OZ-T the dick has a Canada BS thread that is perfect for that where you can learn about Whales and argue about oil projects lol.

@taczilla , if Alberta did not have teams in the playoffs this year I may have cheered for an eastern team. Or just not watched the playoffs! Good thing I won't have to worry about that for a few years with the new Oilers dynasty!
