You cannot comprehend the levels of envy I'm feeling right now. I hope this gets like a 45 minute video review. Just saying.

Sweet. I think I saw your awning review video at some point. How does the Khaya compare price-wise to a Four Wheel Camper?

Now you know why i jumped on that ship. When i heard the price, i instantly said ill take it. Sight unseen. If its anything like the quality of the RTT and Awning, its a steal of a deal. @rino said it should be here late june

It will work, but it will stick out.
It apparently was designed to be short enough to let you run a tire carrier on a long bed, but its universal to mid sized trucks

Cool concept! But the price point will scare off many...me included. yeeshh I wouldn't call it camping anymore if I had a $900 kitchen out there with me  more like Glamping.

That is a sweet setup dude! I have been looking/dreaming at similar setups. The adventure box is really cool as well! http://adventureboxlife.com/

    its not 900

its 700 bucks. I priced out all the materials to make this (i work at an aluminum and stainless fab shop) and its almost 300.00 in materials at least. Super cool composite layered aluminum for the panels, and all around killer build quality.

For me to make something of caliber myself, would be every bit of 500-600.00 after time is factored in, and i have all the huge variety of equipment, and it would end up being heavier than this one.

I think its a pretty solid price point personally. 98% of you couldn't build an aluminum chuck box to this exacting standards. If you want a wood chuck box, this obviously isnt marketed to you. But if you want quality piece you can throw in the back of the truck...this will certainly meet your expectations.

ahhh gotcha...I was looking at the $899 model with gear. But still...spending that much on something like this is a little extreme and over the top IMHO. But if you have the extra $$...I'm sure it is pretty nice and convenient.

Depends on how you measure extreme and over the top. an 1800 rear bumper swingout to most is an extreme and over the top.

To me your radar detector is extreme and over the top, truth be told. I dont speed, so i have no use for it.
Conversely, you most likely dont take your truck out every weekend to the beach or camping, or something where you would need something like this often is my guess.
Kinda like people who say 1500 for an awning is crazy, till then mess around with a cheap one and see why its great ;)

Very good point...I haven't used the radar in over a year truthfully, not much of a speeder anymore. Was with my last vehicle:D and I got a great deal through escort while I worked at Best Buy (75%off) because there is no way I would've spent $500 on a radar/laser detector even back then(circa 2009).

You are also correct that I don't use my truck that often for camping, only twice so far this year and usually just overnights. So for me...yes this would be overkill at this point in my life.

And truthfully, i would never recommend this to you. Im sure an actionpacker is the best solution for your needs. Its all about frequency vs cost.

Sorry for the confusion gentlemen. Our standalone units, without the extra gear, are $499/$699 for the compact/standard models. We've also got one for $899 that has an integrated 2-burner. Obviously these aren't for everyone (most of our buddies are content with $10 bins from Target!) but as @Broverlanding pointed out, for those dropping $$$$ on their rig, upgrading the kitchen is probably a no-brianer.
