I had some flaky HID kits that barely worked. They are bright and look good. I could have went with 80w but chose the 50w. I'm pretty happy

I bought and installed a set of front and mid skids from Mobtown Offroad awhile back. This was before Joe redesigned his skids by adding reinforcements in the front and midskids and completely redesigning the transfer skid. I emailed Joe and asked if the old front and mid skids could be upgraded with the reinforcements. He said sure. I had a new transfer skid already in line among several other TW members in a Mobtown skid group buy. He added the reinforcement pieces to the transfer skid boxes. I wire wheeled the old paint off and had the reinforcements welded in. The countersunk mounts are the result of me showing a machinist what I was doing, and him making the four mounts. The welder and the mechanist didn't charge me for anything.

Here's what the counter sunk hole looks like from the bottom surface. The is the old paint after welding.

I had some fun re painting.

    I installed them today.

Thanks to Amazon Prime, I got the new cabin air filter delivered and installed today. Thanks for the recommendation @bikeordie1 , it fit like a glove.

Oh and at 25k miles on the OEM factory filter, boy did it need changing. Probably going to be swapping these things out at 20k from here on.

Cleaned it with soap and water; went over it with rubbing alcohol; degreased it; sanded the heck out of it (not down to metal, but enough to remove all evidence of chrome); 2 coats of Adhesion Promoter; 3 coats of self-etching primer; 2 coats of regular primer as a buffer (not recommended to apply color directly to self-etching primer); another coat of Adhesion Promoter; then 5 coats of Krylon Dual Flat Black. Finished off with 3 coats of Dupli-color post gloss spray. Obviously there was adequate drying time in between each step.

It was a lengthy process, but I felt that if I was overly thorough with the prep then maybe the paint will have a better chance of staying. Guess I'll find out.

Cheap crappy product lol! Jk seriously was already damaged when I bought the truck, notice the corner flying in the wind this week and when I touched it it fell off lol I put it back on with 3m two way tape. Does the job for now.

I have it holding the letters on grill. It has been on there for over a year and they are still solid.

IMG_1526.jpg Spray this on before even painting anything and trust me and it will stick it won't chip. Ask some body shops about it if your scetch on it I use to work at a paint shop and this was sprayed on anything plastic before painting

It's been a productive weekend. Installed my fridge with slide, onboard air compressor, and ghetto rigged some maxtrax mounts.

Tested the capacity of the Indel-B TB51A refrigerator/freezer and fit 60 cans and 6 bottles with a little room to spare.
