any steps you buy wont require you to drill-- the holes are already on the truck- its just a matter of style and price!!!:D

I hate my Westins as well. I got the non-stainless, which was a mistake and partially my fault, but they are already rusting through the chrome finish after only two weeks on the truck. On top of that, they seem to have the strength and integrity of a coke can. Never again...

If you're going to spend the money on nerf bars, I'd recommend looking into aluminum. Even the stainless guys are having rust problems.

You want them for looks or functionality? Do you do a lot of off-roading or are you mainly on the street? I really like my steps but they wouldn't last off-road very long. Here's a few pics:

I have a set of Raptor Series stainless tubes. Lifetime warranty on the tubes. So far so good. Brackets in factory mount points as others have mentioned.

Tubes and sliders are for totally different use models. Pick what you are looking for. Mine hang out a little and I have grown to like it. Protects from door dings better and I am more likely to see that than rocks. Others may have other needs. I am more comfortable with my wife stepping up in the truck in dress shoes with tubes than sliders.

Keep checking out other members trucks. Here's my story...

I have a silver taco and couldn't decide between the black or chrome that I had seen on trucks around town... neither really tripped my trigger. I had seen some silver ones on toyotapartsstore.com but didn't trust the small picture enough to fork over $319+s&h. That's when I found the "lets see your silver taco" thread and spent a lot of time checking out other peoples trucks and their tube steps. I found a members truck that looked just like mine with the silver ones and convinced me to get them. I ordered them last Friday and received them today... will be installing this weekend.

    Good luck!

Does anyone have pics of sliders installed? Looking for some which are tight to the body, but could be used as side step if need be (more off-roadable than the tubes, yet same functionality).

I have a set of the toyota factory ones (the grey ones with the black step). had them on the truck for abotu two years before i took them off becasue i was afraid i'd ruin them off road. I haven't posted them in the for sale section yet, but i may be looking to seel them very shortly if you're interested. i see you're in PA, shoot me a pm if you're ever in the northern VA area and want to take a look at them...or take them off my hands ;) i was very happy with them, they are a good size, looked good, and were very sturdy...just not sturdy enough to risk killing off road.

I got smittybilts for now. They were cheap. I got them for under $140. It took me 30 minutes to get them on by myself.

Nice ride Skistoy... I love black but my last 3 vehicles were Midnight Blue, Black & Black and I got tired of trying to keep them looking that good. Silver's much more forgiving.
