Running board / Step bar suggestion?

There are lots of suggestions for nerf bars/running boards/step bars, etc. but I have a specific need that I am having difficulty finding an answer for . My wife is short (4'9"), and disabled to boot, and has a very tough time getting into my brand-new double-cab SR5. I'm looking for a step bar that might be lower that usually desired for protection, but will aid her in getting into my truck. Any suggestions on where to look? I've spent a bunch of time on Amazon, but height dimensions are pretty hard to come by.

I did find a 2nd gen Tacoma in a parking lot that has pretty typical nerf bars, and they measure about 17 inches from the ground, still pretty tall for my wife.

Thanks for your help! I'm new to all of this stuff. My previous truck was an '88 Toy p/u 2wd long-bed; a completely different animal.

 

These ones are called Go Rhino. I'm not sure of the height, but I see them all over the place and I'd guess they go about 6 inches lower than a normal stepside.


Or if you really want to spend some money, these are the power steps that lower when you want to get in and tuck themselves under the body when you're driving. These pictured are AMP Research; a bunch of companies make them.

 

Step bars don't provide any protection, if you want protection too you need sliders. I have sliders with fill plates set at 0 degrees instead of the typical 15 degrees, works great as step for the wife and puppers.
