Alabama Goes to Moab - Trip Planning Thread

Do you guys plan to camp on the way to Moab, or get a room, or drive straight through?

I wanted to leave on the 3rd but it seems Bill won't be able to do that date so we will likely be leaving the 4th.

We will have three drivers and we are trying to decide if we want to drive straight through or not.

Do we have a specific address that everyone can GPS to?

I think we are going to grab snacks for the trip and do our grocery shopping once we arrive. That way we don't have two day old food when we get there.

 

So John and I will leave out the afternoon of the 3rd and probably camp near Little Rock. The 4th will be Albuquerque NM and I am think hotel. Then the 5th will be at the Grand Canyon south rim. The 6th at Area BFE. Not sure what the layout is there, so who gets there first will need to try to figure it out.

 

We need to have another get together about this, Saturday?

what time are you wanting to leave on the 4th though? that's what Dave asked previously I believe.

 

I'd like to be on the road by 4:30

 

anytime works for me, I'm taking that day off to load up.

 

We are slammed at work this week and I'll be slammed next week so idk what to expect.

I'll personally send you photos of how much fun we are having. Some of our group seems to be wanting to plan a Moab 2019? trip already.

 

awesome, we definitely have the desire, just need the stars to line up. maybe in 2018

 

it's literally using every hour I have remaining of vacation haha. I may have to wait till 2019 to have enough built up again.

Ok so Little Rock is about 6 hours away from Huntsville. @justinalldredge19 can you leave any earlier than the previously mentioned 430? I'd love to be at the campground before dark to setup..

 

ok so Justin is a "not sure" on exact time he can leave Thursday the 4th. I can leave at anytime, and would like to get to Little Rock before dark personally. I'm thinking I will leave just after lunch, that way I can get a spot and save room at the campground too. Anybody is welcome to go with me, or you can ride out with Justin around 430.
