It's just four clamps to remove the rails. As for the space for the bikes... I think so but I'm not 100%

Softopper actually makes a bike mount that mounts externally. pretty slick. It can be used along with the softopper in the up position.

I have seen people mount the bikes under the softopper. Seats usually have to come down and the fork mounts will need to be attached to the bed somehow.

Thanks for the info. I did see the bike mounts on Softopper.com and would have purchased them, but they have been discontinued. only the passenger side is left and I need two unfortunately.

    bummer, didn't know that.

Need to find a vendor that can make something like that... Didn't @KB Voodoo make something similar at some point?

Not sure? Not sure why Softopper would discontinue them? Not selling enough? Or did they have installation issues with them? Mute point looks like they are unavailable. I will have to come up with a system where I can transplant my fork mounts on the cab bed rail to the floor of the truck bed. Will probably just mount them to a flat piece of wood so I can enjoy the bikes being covered by the Softopper.

Thoughts on this... Happened on both sides. Don't wanna remove everything. Clear silicone to reseal? Had a little water leakage.

I do this with my Supertop. Same concept. Takes an hour or so to switch em twice a year.

I do it every time I use the automatic non-touchless car wash. Maybe five minutes to take it off and ten or fifteen minutes to put it back on. I spend more time reinstalling my traction boards, shovel, and all the other shit in my bed than my Softopper.

It can be used either way. I think it's advertised for off the vehicle but I've seen members use it while on the truck as well.

I use mine on the truck, it keeps it all wrapped up and stopps wind from getting into the folds of the softopper.

I have only used it off the truck a couple of times, but it's just as easy, fold the topper up. Wrap it in its bag and then remove the bars via the pins like normal. I also detach the side bars from the top bars once it's of the truck to conserve space. It sucks living in a basement suite with almost no storage. :(

Edit: found a pic of its folded and on the truck.20170402_085836.jpg

From what I've read, if you live in really cold regions you will run the risk of cracking the rear vinyl/plastic window. It can also be hard to put on in cold weather.

had mine up for 2 years and haven't had any problems. You dont want to roll it up when its cold. It can withstand a good amount of snow that accumulates overnight until you clear it off.

The windows can crack in the cold as mentioned. If you don't fuck with the windows you should be fine. I take mine off for bear season and put it back on in the spring
