So who else is having this problem? Once every couple weeks my headliner on the driver side will come out of the trim. Maybe a couple inches of exposure. It isn't falling down, just coming out of the trim. I can tuck it back in but I'll just pop out a little while later.

This week's was along at least half the door. Either my bi-weekly tucking is lacking or it's getting worse.

Why haven't you visited the dealer?

Somebody else on here had this issue a while ago, some of the 2016 headliners were cut incorrectly. Dealer will need to replace it.

Because contrary to what the dealer thinks I have a full time job and trying to work around that so can have it all day to confirm it's bad. Then another multiple day trip to leave it there.

I have yet to have a good experience at the dealer. When I got my truck tsb for the transmission it took me three separate drop offs to get it done.

Just curious if anyone else had the problem. That's all. The dealer won't tell me that. :)

A good friend of mine is a Toyota technician, the dealership will replace for free and should only take about 4-5 hours. I just so happened to be up at his shop when he was replacing one. Everything needs to be taken out so not to put any creases in the new headliner.

I dont have any pics of it, but the pillar covers all come out, the seats; front and rear, the rear storage bin, and the center console. pretty lengthy especially while trying to not scratch any of the panels. but its all straight forward.

That sucks dude. Ask them for a loaner or pick up service. My dealership offers both because they realize most people do have full time jobs

Depending on your service department, they may say that's just normal for the 2016's to do that!!!

I had the same exact problem. I would stuff it back in a within a few days it would pop back out. I took it to the dealer and they ordered and installed a new headliner. I'm afraid there is no other remedy

Took it to the dealer finally. They said it's because I installed a light bar. No warranty work on headliner. If I want it fixed I have to buy it myself.

And that is why I never buy extended warranties. :hattip:

So this answers the "will it void my warranty?" question

Yep. They said I took out the headliner and that's why it's too small and keeps popping out.

I'm fine voiding warranties. But telling me the problem was caused by me not reinstalling the headliner correctly when I didn't touch it was kind of annoying. Not to mention if I took it out why would it have shavings.

Also whatever they did now it's worse. It won't stay in at all. Before it would stay tucked for a week or so.

Yup, they suck. I just picked up a can of the 3M adhesive spray and put that in. It's working...for now
