Yes, I took some pictures. I will post them up in the next day or so. The pics are on a SDHC card and my laptop will only read regular SD cards so I have to go get a SDHC reader to get them off.

I'm simply not going to bring this to trial on a forum. OP, I wish you luck, please keep us updated with your situation.

Oh you don't have to for our sake. Do you intend to pursue this any further?

I am still not satisfied with having the parts repaired so most likely, depending on what the attorney says, I will be pursuing this further.

That's exactly what you should do, consult an attorney so you can find out what your options are. Good for you.

I bet Toyota of Dallas loves this kind of publicity.

I can tell you that I will NOT be purchasing any more parts from TOD until this is resolved in a reasonable manner. I'll gladly pay 15-20% more elsewhere to keep my business from a company who treats their customers in this type of manner.

Aren't they the ones selling the cheap extended warranty? Not sure if I'm remembering that correctly...

CORRECTION: Nope, I am remembering that wrong. Disregard.

if the owner/gm said you can sue them, by all means, small claims court costs no more than $50. Go in there, demand a jury, and enjoy your reward -- because you'll win. A lot of people don't realize just how easy small claims court really is.

Lawyers do this stuff for a living. They know the rules, what to say, who to say it to. An initial consultation, so they can get a handle on your specific problem, is generally free. For free, you probably will get a realistic idea of your options, that's a good deal. A letter or a phone call (lawyer to dealer) will cost, but most likely would be money well spent.

Talk to a lawyer. It's true, they are like hospitals, it sucks that they are necessary, but when they are needed it sure is nice to have one.

I swear if this thread ends with "So I spoke with a lawyer and after he talked to them, he told me 'You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.'", I will be pissed.

Although, I would have to give props for the very elaborate setup.

Call up one of the local tv stations and ask who you speak to about a potential story. With Toyota in the news you are sure to get some air time with a story like that. I guarantee you'd have new parts on your truck if you can get that done.

Our local station has an "On You Side" segment they use just for stuff like this. It's worth a try...

I agree--take some pics of the damage, and hire a lawyer. Yea, it will cost you some bucks--but it's worth it--don't let them get away with that crap!
