I'm wanting to put a split seat setup in an 04 access cab with buckets. Am I correct in that all I need is the driver's split seat, shifter trim, and seat belt? Will parts from any year 95-04 work? Anything else I should be aware of? Also where would be the best place to find a seat. Tacomas seem to be rare at salvage yards around here(Tucson, AZ), nothing on ebay, etc.

should just bolt right in and all you need is the drivers 60 seat from the 60/40

the console ads onto the back of the floor shifter so it just disconnects and at best you might just need to put up with a color difference in the part that never saw the light of day.

look around the pull your own part places, they are there you just have to search and more people are looking to swith to buckets from the 60/40 bench.

I think the best thing to do is advertise for a straight swapout for a 60/40 seat in good condition for your seats and center console setup. put a post over in the for sale or trade section here, see the links up at top of page

trust me people will be fighting with each other to get that deal.

try to get a seat from an 01-04 because the seats have better more comfortable foam then 96-00 seats and the armrest folds down to allow open access to the rear seats just like you had with the console. the 96-00 seats have a solid back and just a pad folds down as armrest so rear access is still blocked off.

if no one will swap with you (don't worry, they will) then you can try this website, they will have anything you ever needed for tacos somewhere and most places ship it at a cost of around $60-$100 I think http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

    None so far.
I would trade with you in a heartbeat if my 60/40 was in better shape. 20 years of jumping in and out of mine have caused the stuffing to start falling out.

for now just post it in this forum, just make the title short and to the point,

"anybody want to swap my bucket seats with console for your 60/40 bench seat?"

I think you might have a deal within hours.

they cant very well fault you for posting it in the wrong section if your not permitted to post there yet lol

    OME and worth every penny.
might help to put the color/ condition in there also.
I'm on the fence. I've never liked my buckets (tradition) but I'd have to find a way to ALSO put the 97 cup holder on the dash as I would lose the console.

Grey in fair condition. Works completely, just has minor cosmetic stuff and the headrest is a little messed up.(apparently those nuts hold it up)

Kinda thinking about doing this in my 2010 access cab. Only problem is it's a stick shift... the jump seats in the back are useless anyhow

Looks like my seats are probably just gonna be for sale. Picking up a set of split seats from a yard right now. Just had to call around a bit more.

That's for auto's though isn't it? Doesn't the manual one hang off the side?
I dunno, the whole point of having the split seat is so someone can closer to me but not hit drinks with their legs.
It's prob. moot, I should have changed it long ago. Not really my daily any more.,,,,,or even weekly. Unfortunately, daily is even worse. Much worse.

I think the reason they're doing away with benches/single cabs is air bags. Someone leaning over is unprotected.

ya that's for an auto, might be worth checking into though, if the redesigned the auto in the 01-04 then I bet they redesigned the manual trim as well
