I know the pic is a concept, but does the access cab shortbed configuration exist? or ever existed in the past?

It's just that it'd put wheels closer together and would be amazing for offroading.

Nope, does not exist and never has. Would be a great wheeling rig though.

And reg cabs don't come in a TRD package.

It would be a cool rig to see put into production.... since its main appeal would be for 4-wheeling, maybe offer it with a special version of the TRD offroad package and call it the TRD Trail Teams Tacoma?

Just threw up a little in my mouth... that thing has very little ground clearance and not entirely sure on its purpose.

Also, how does that in any shape on form help with getting a closer wheelbase?

Obviously...lol. I just meant how does getting a Honda Ridgeline help me get a shorter wheel base?

Pretty sure someone on TTORA did an extended cab/short bed build on a gen 1. Came out pretty good. A LOT of work though.

Sorry to revive a old thread but what about putting a extended cab on a single cab frame and put the short bed on it?

If you want to offroad, buy a 4 wheeler.
This is a truck, short bed is really stupid.

Why people destroy a truck instead of just using an atv baffles me. Beat on a truck designed for only light off-road use with a sticker that says off-road, or take something actually engineered for purely off-road and nothing else. Plus a 20k+ truck vs a ~5k atv is a no brainer

    That's just it!
"off road" in the context of a truck, means construction site, mining, forestry, or other places besides asphalt where a bulldozer has already been through.
