Husky Liners

I finally broke down and purchased a new set of Husky Liners for my 2008 Tacoma. I had been using a set that I orginally bought for a 2001 Tacoma and I also used them in a 2005 Tacoma and then for a couple of months in my 2008 Tacoma.
I have decided that you cannot wear these liners out. Anyway the new ones fit better because they are actually made for my truck. The only thing I did not like about the newer set is that they do not cover the area to the right of the gas pedal as well as the older ones.
I fixed this by cutting up one of the older mats and attaching it to the carpet beside the gas pedal for a little more protection.

When I first put these in I used velcro to hold the edges down, after a week or two the stay down on their own.

I also looked at the Weathertech liners that most on here use but I just like the look and cost of the Husky's better ($64.95 for fronts only including shipping). I'm sure the wearthertechs are good liners too I just prefer these.

Very nice, I love mine. Like what you did with the extra piece on the driver side. There worth their weight in gold, no one who rides with you usually gives a crap about getting mud all over the place! The rear is also a nice addition because it covers the center too...

I have those same ones in my front too. I know rachunter velcro'd his down but they still look like they are molded differently then mine and yours. My left foot rest does not go over the top like rachunter's his just look like they fit better.

 

I noticed janster still has the factory floor mats in his truck. The husky's fit much better with nothing under them.

 

I did this set just like my first set. I just lay them out on a really hot day and let them get really soft. Then I just use a few very small pieces of velcro to make them stay where I want them after a week or two they just kind of get stuck in that shape.

If you need them to pull down closer to the carpet you can just use the side of velcro that is stiffer, put it on the mat and it will stick to the carpet very well. You do not need to put anything on the carpet.

 

Purchased where? These look better than than any of the other Husky's I've seen in peoples trucks. If I can get them looking like that, I'll save money and buy them over the Weathertech's.

 

Autoanything has them, that's where I got mine.

I agree about removing the factory mats. You have to snap out the mat holder clip, then the fit nicely.

 

Yeah, I've still got the factory mats in there. I just threw the Huskies in there ontop. I'd remove the factory mat, but I don't wanna cut that peg thing off and I definately don't wanna put a hole in the Husky mat. Believe me, I've spilled a couple things on the Husky mats and I was soo happy the Huskies contained the spill.

These have been good ...even with the factory mats. Mine kinda look 'warped' on the one edge, I think I drag my feet across it too much when I get in

 

i too have my huskys on top of the "$200" toyota carpet mats... fit fine for my needs that way

 

Janster, you don't have to cut off the hook. It just pulls right out. I do it by accident sometimes.

Not sure I'll take 'em out or not. Thats just something else I gotta keep stored away in the basement.

 

I like those a lot, had them in my old 4runner. Very durable, and easy to wash. Nice buy.

Another good reason to take the factory mats out is because you can sell them on ebay. Out of three new Tacomas I have purchased the factory mats have never been used. I think this last set I had, I sold the front two for $60.00. So my Huskies cost me $5. I still have a set of 2008 TRD factory front mats if anyone is interested.
I bet if you try the mats without the factory ones under them you will like them even better. Just give the pegs a tug and they will pop right out.

 

Man, I gotta try that, my garage has two sets of mats, one from my tacoma another from my tundra & a set of catch-alls from my tundra. Thanks for the pics on your mats.
