Took Echo to the hills for the 1st time. We played a little fetch up this hill with snow balls, she was having a blast skiing back down. We also tried to break trail into Pelton Creek to no avail. Turned around by this tree and got stuck coming back out. High centered actually, which is why the MaxTraxx were useless. Used the Winch Wench (the Mrs) instead because I didn't feel like shoveling. 2 more weeks and should be able to bust through.2017-04-23 018.jpg 2017-04-23 008.jpg 2017-04-23 013.jpg 2017-04-23 015.jpg 2017-04-23 016.jpg 2017-04-23 023.jpg 2017-04-23 024.jpg 2017-04-23 021 - Copy.jpg 2017-04-23 022.jpg 2017-04-23 025.jpg

    Looks fun.

    I worked all weekend..

The tracks work but yeah, takes some shoveling to get it a bit clear to use them. We had good success when we used my treds a few month ago. But not a solve all problems thing for sure.

Had to laugh. Reading about Echo's adventures and then about getting high-centered. Makes sense with those short little legs. :D

Sadly no more lander. Was super stoked for that job...plus a summer in Lander. This job is a year in length and pays 10k more...plus pretty much guarantees permanent employment at any field office. Ill be keeping my eye on lander though. They have a open biologist position that may get listed in a year or two.

For sure! I'm stoked to see some new landscape. I know it will be a good fit for me but it will be interesting to see how Lizzy handles it when she moves out .

Yes you can import any GPX or KML file.

I used it the whole trip with Mike and my last trip to Ut. Works great.

You have to DL the maps in advance(duh) but it works great. I love how you can record with it to know how far you drove, how long you drove, elevation, max speed, min speed, average speed..pretty cool really.

Learning curve on the app is odd..but its not terrible.

I never used the free one...so idk. I just bought it.

I use bcn all the time for work when I go places I need to find with no cell service. DL the area ahead of time and upload all my kml files and let er rip! It's worth it to buy it

Yep, which is fine by me. Im a small town kinda guy. I just need 5-6 buddies to have a poker game once a month and I am content. We went to Colorado Springs this last weekend and decided we don't want to do big cities...ever.

For instance heres a screen cap of the import page. It sees a recent download of a pipeline location I downloaded from my email and I can choose to import it. Screenshot_20170424-222349.jpg

I think you'll like it. Its handy and nice to have topo and not just OSM.

navigating the file browser in android can be odd. I plug my device into my mac, move the file over to the SD card. And then navigate to it in BCN.

The reality is that the FJ was high centered and I was literally just being lazy Sunday, so I tried the tracks, and then winched. I could've literally just shoveled a little and then drove right out. Echo did get herself high centered a few times too though. :D

That's cool, Gage. I think you're really going to like that area. Lots of new places to see and explore.

I'd like to get one. Be fun to get photos and a little video from some of the trips we do. I love the perspective. Though id get a more "cinematic" drone, not a more or less race drone like Marc's, even though that is awesome too.

I'm sure i'll get to fly the phantom again this summer at Tippet.

Snowing like crazy here. Near white out conditions now. 6'' on the truck this morning and still going strong. I can't believe the moisture we are getting this year. Flooding is going to be bad. Supposed to rain/snow this weekend too.
