You do know the 3rd gen's Chief Engineer was a former engineer for Chrysler. Some things appeared to have carried over.

Got spare cvs... spare belts.. tools to service a small auto shop. I even have a mattress on board lol no cps sensor though. Lol that missed my list .

Just stating that during my morning drive to target lol didn't think it would happen. So I agree with most people not have a spare sensor lol

The White Knights think it's a little issue as long as it's not THEIR truck on the trailer.

Some of them go a little overboard with defense of the Tacoma.

I almost believe that if a Tacoma lost control and crashed into a daycare center, exploded and killed all inside, the White Knights would immediately start reasoning that the toddlers must have been cooking meth and that's how the fire actually started.

Yes, and with no or spotty cell coverage, miles from any neighbor, crappy weather, and tow charges that Toyota won't cover because it's not near a regularly traveled road.

Sometimes companies make the best products when they are trying to be known and play with the big boys, so they sacrifice big profit margins for quality to "prove" the brand. Doing so, they gain reputation and market share.

When they become one of the big boys, then it is time to make the big boy money, but cutting costs and lowing overall quality. In today's business world that compares quarterly profits from previous quarters, it is about maximum profits and cutting cost which means cutting quality.

This is Toyota's story. They built their US reputation on quality vehicles by putting out a better product than their US competitors, once they became one of the largest car manufactures in the world, they then went to focusing on profits, and how to keep increasing them. They now are no different than GM, Ford and Chrysler.

    Workin' on it....
Lot of truth to this. My uncle had an 85 and then an 89 Toyota pickup. The 89 had around 700000km (about 420k miles) on it when he sold it as a beater truck to one of his buddies. It was a super reliable workhorse of a truck for him. I don't know if I'll get anywhere near that on my 2nd gen but if I can can get over 200k with minimal issues, I'll be happy.

    Alright well here it is.

    1. The truck is fine. After the sensor I asked them to check the car converter just in case and everything is good.

    Crank Position Sensor Replaced
    Part # 90919-05089

They reported this to TAS (need a captain to chime in on what that means) probably quality control or something for these type of things.

All good for now! Will update later.

Why bother having a debate with @Friggin Fuego when you know you won't change his mind? Heck, he's been on the 3rd gen forum for the last 6-10 months, same typical reply to every thread. He hates the 3rd gen, we get it.

Anyway, thread ended on page 4 lol ... just all bashing after that except for a few informative posts.

I've actually been on the 3rd gen forums since it was created. During a time when there were a lot of hopes and dreams about the next redesign.........Then initial reports about the motor specs and type came out. Then it was downhill from there.
