I kinda agree with your statement because not all dog bites require a call to 911. I also agree that when a pit does bite it's usually worse than compared to other dog bites. I was bit in the ass by my friends Irish Setter but 911 wasn't needed, now if it would've been his pit, that was right there in the house in the same room also, I probably would've had a chunk of my ass gone lol.

I'd put money on this being the biggest issue. bigger than nature vs nuture of a pit. all dogs bite, and quite frequently. Pits just make it count. so unfortunately a pit that causes a toddler to have stitches because the little shit put a finger in the dogs butt will get a lot more attention (negative) than a mini poodle that bites everyone it sees, but can barely break the skin.

Edit: Same reason you see a lot more advertising for lawyers that handle semi-truck specific vehicle crashes, vs regular car on car crashes. very few wrecks involve semis, but when they do, they work you over good.

Not sure if you guys remember but 2 years ago while camping in Myrtle Beach my dog bit a lady in the face. Day before while I was walking him she was petting him and he was giving her kisses. Next day he's chained up & sleeping on my campsite. I was standing there loading a beach bag on my tailgate and I heard a sound I hope to never hear again. While he was sleeping she came on my site & put her face in his wanting kisses and woke him. Of course this startled him and he bit her. I turned around and that fast the bottom half of her face was covered in blood. He just nibbed her & let go, he didnt hold on. Luckily she admitted that she was wrong and apologized for disturbing him and never reported it to the office or authorities. My wife and I felt soooo bad.

    Exactly.

My last dog did the same to me a few days before she passed. She fell down the steps and when I went to pick her up she bit almost clear through my right hand. She was a lab mix mut.

They were French Canadians in their mid 20's on vacation headed down the coast. They were at the site next to mine. The partying at night was a little loud but we didn't care. While in the camp store a couple days later a employee asked if they were being loud at night because they had a complaint. My wife and I replied they aren't loud at all, we don't even know they're there. They are great camping neighbors lol. I didn't care what they did or how much noise they made because they were so cool about the dog incident.

Saw this while going to pick a boat up today, went back and talked to the owner after work, he turns out to be a old friend of my parents and is gonna call me with a price. He seemed busy so I didn't ask to take a closer look.
