Add A Leaf question

Yea , that calculator says what you have" more than existing wheels" . My existing rim is the stockSR5 steelie with 265 /70 16s .

 

Anything more than what I have will def look better ! Also this pic is old . I have 6112 set at top notch and Total Chaos UCAs to be installed next week .

What are all of the components you added/changed? Tire and wheel specs? People are going to ask so...

 

Camburg setup from their website. Bilstein 6112's in the front with camburg uni-ball upper control arms, 5100's in the rear. I added a 1.5 inch steel block in the rear but after loading it with weight a few times and just generally driving, I don't like it.

Wanted 285's but the tire pro shop phucked me on wheels so I had to settle for 265/70/17. I regret using that shop because every time i look at the truck I wish the tires were taller.

Going to install the 2 inch add a leaf and see how I like it. If it sucks, progressive pack next.

So 6112s are maxed out up front I take it

 

Mine install is happening now . Hope for minor trimming , if any besides removing mud flaps . Change the tire size from 265/75 16 to 285/70 17 , 17x8 with 0 offset . 6112s top setting with TC UCAs . 2" AAL and bilstein 5125s in the rear. 1/4 spacer driver side .Dif drop and SS extended brake lines . I must have spent 3 months trying to figure out what size wheel and tire I could use and at the last minute went with the 285s . I think the wheel size should be good from the research I have done here .

 

I had the same spec wheels and same size tires on a ~2.5" lift. Your alignment will play a big role on if you'll rub or not, but don't be surprised if you rub the cab mount when you hit bumps.

EDIT: And if you do rub and need to do a CMC, don't wait. Another member here waited and ended up ruining his tires because they'd hit the cab mount and chunks of tire would come off.

 

Thanks , I hope no CMC . It will just cost me more money because I am mechanically challenged

 

CMC shouldn't require mechanical skills on your side, it's up to the person doing the CMC for you. Unless you want to cut the frame mounts yourself.

 

No worries there! I had to pay someone to do it too since I don't know how to weld. What I did do was buy my own angle grinder and make the cuts, and had someone else just weld the plates. Cost me about the same overall if I were to have someone to everything, but now I have my own angle grinder.
