It is a popularity contest at this point. I believe it should be who needs it most / Who's truck it would look better on. Hence why I am trying to go for the sympathy vote since mine are cracked.

 

And I am probably going to buy them anyways after it is all said and done and I dont win haha

 

He said he was feeling it out as this was his first giveaway so maybe I should just STFU and give credit where credit is due because the guy is really doing something awesome.

 

I agree...I think if he were to make some sort of qualifying process and a blind voting pole it would be kind of cool. I mean to some degree everyone has decent lights stock, but to get the guys who really have been wanting it for a while and don't get that much funds would be cool to see a list made. I think it might be challenging though to create this criteria without offending some members in the process though. But to just have whoever is the most known to score it kind of sucks IMO vs someone who really could use it.

 

Have you not noticed all voting give aways on this site are merely popularity contests? It's been that way on here for at least the past 5 years. Before then, yeah it would be voted on merit. But things aren't the same as they once we're in any aspect of life.

Honestly man, that could work...make it where you HAVE to have a discrepancy for this one. After that he can pick a new criteria for the next round.

I agree with your post on so many levels, particularly the part about the inevitable changes that life forces upon us.

But, Cali Raised and Apex did a good job recently, back in October of last year. They had members post a picture of their truck and why they needed/wanted the lights, and then the vendor chose the best reasons. I thought that was run well.

 

I was told by the winner and vendor for that it came down to picking a name out of the hat bc they were overwhelmed with submissions.

 

I still think that's a little bit better than a member vote, though.

 

I have some changes coming for the truck which I'm extremely excited about. As a result, I have a pair of bed bars for sale. They are mid height with quick fists on one side and hi-lift mount on the other. I also have a mobtown transfer case skid for sale. Painted but unused.

Anyone interested in my bike? 2013 Ninja 300, 13K miles. All service logged and mods in my build thread in signature. Looking for $3K.

I'll be making a CL post and official FS thread here soon once I confirm with myself that I'm getting the next bike I'm planning on. Would be a purchase within the next month and a half so the Ninja would be available around that time.
