did not hijack. Actually answered the question twice.

admittedly, i did not help the situation by contributing to further hijacking by wheel mobbing. but still.

Wow this thread degraded fast but I'll just list a few things I like to have handy on my TruckCamping/Overlanding/Offroading/WhorReallyCares trips
    - Air Compressor (or someone in the group with one)
    - Extra Gasoline
    - Rack or other way to cary the gas Outside of the vehicle
    - Extraction Boards (or a couple people in the group with some)
    - Extra full size tire
    - Tire repair kit (or a couple people in the group with some and experience using them)
    - Winch or hi-lift jack in the group (and experience to use them and not get anyone hurt)
    - Basic tools (or someone in the group with a good selection)
    - Saw, machete or chainsaw (depending on environment)
    - Tow straps, D-rings etc (or someone in the group with some)
    - Flashlights
    - Offline maps (I use backcountry navigator app, download the maps for entire area)
    - Extra batteries or consistent way to charge phone or other devices
    - Place to sleep ... for me long bed with A.R.E. shell and storage system with memory foam bed on top. But seems those roof top tents are popular
    - Communication device in common with group Walkie Talkie, HAM, CB (ask group)

And of course a good camera!

Pretty much what I was thinking. If you look through wheels that people make, everyone's looks similar. I had VMR on my Audi Wagon which looked exactly like Stassis (another Audi tuning shop) which also looked like TSW wheels I had back in the 90's on an Accord.

SCS are nice looking wheels (which I also have) that also play homage to many other wheels. First time I heard of VTX personally. Some of his other wheels for cars look like other brands as well. He has some Rotoform look a likes but so do several companies.

I believe it may be the fact that he copied SCS's design AND markets strongly towards Tacomas and T4Rs :notsure:

Holy hell this thread was hijacked. Unsubscribe, unsubscribe, unsubscribe! @jarvie provided a pretty good list. I think it all depends on where you're going as not every trip/environment is the same. Here's what I keep in my truck. I will not even mention brand names because there are people who will judge you for what you have. If I'm able to get out and explore the world, that's all that matters to me.
    • Air compressor
    • Recovery strap
    • D-rings
    • Food
    • Water
    • Cooler
    • Sleeping bags
    • Shelter (roof top tent, sleeping platform, ground tent, hammock - whatever floats your boat)
    • Clothes
    • Medication
    • First Aid kit
    • Toiletries
    • Hand saw
    • Cell phone
    • Flashlight
    • Extra batteries
    • Stove with fuel
    • Cooking supplies (pots and pans)
    • Coffee mug with coffee making supplies (and coffee)
    • Paper maps of the area if possible (if technology fails you, a paper map will not)
Some of these things I have never used. But most of them I have. Someone offered me some advice when I first bought my truck. They said to not go out and buy everything possible for my truck. But to go and use the truck, and when I find my truck is not accomplishing something, then I can buy something to fix that. I'm not taking my truck places where I will need spare gas cans. A $40 cooler with advice keeps things cold enough, for long enough to fit my needs.

Hope you found some useful replies and have an awesome time!

CO2 tank is a good option in place of the air compressor

What's the benefit of CO2? I hear a lot of people prefer it.

    Advantage: fills up much faster

    Disadvantage: runs out

If you have the money, time, and place to mount it. The ViAir compressor works just fine for my needs.

I chose it because it's totally independent from the truck, fills faster and I'm cheap and get a good deal from the local weld supply.

I filled up my 10 lb CO2 back in November and have used it on 6 trips so far. Aired my 33s down to 15 psi then back up to 32 psi each time. Takes about 40 seconds a tire. You can also use the CO2 tank with air tools if need be. It does cost $20 to refill or you can just swap it out for cheaper.

Costs me $12 to fill my 10# tanks at a local fire extinguisher supplier.

My welding supply shop is even more than yours. Seriously check out fire extinguisher places. CO2 is CO2, and they generally seem to be a hell of a lot nicer to do business with.
