Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the front and Fox 2.0’s in the rear, Total Chaos UCA’s, Al-lpro expo leafs, K&N cold air intake, TRD headers,Magnaflow catback exhaust,URD short throw shifter, switched out my 60/40 bench seat for some Tacoma Limited seats, Replaced the vinyl shift boot for a leather one, completely soundproofed the cab w/ Frost King. Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. MX series camper shell. All-Pro Apex front bumper w/ All-Pro skid plates all the way back to the Trans. Low Range fuel skid plate.
I just bought 285/75R16's and they rub quite a bit. I have a cheap 2-1/2" lift. I plan on doing some cutting to minimize the rubbing and eventually buy some Kings or Foxs/UCA's and hopefully that helps

Yeah new coils and uca's would probably do the trick, if there's not enough room on the front, you can always just buy a spammer wrench, and tighten down your coil, your ride will be more stiff, but you won't have any rubbing going on after that

And what does the tundra brake upgrade do? More stopping power?

Not true. I'm running 15x10 and have no clearance issue on rotor/caliper, yes it's a 02 trd 4x4 6 lug. FYI, stock toyota truck 15 rim will fit and clear, no issue. Just because it's 16 from factory don't mean 15 will not fit. Try searching on tw, many tw member use toyota factory 15 rim on their taco that came with 16 inch rim.

By that way, tires are cheaper for 15, compared to 16. If I recall correctly, before buying rim, I compare tire prices for 15 to 16 on same brand tire and most average 50 to 100 buck more for 16 than 15.

Not enough to have a build thread.
I like my 285/75/16s. They're the Toyo Open Country AT2s. I'm using ProComp 7069s I believe. They're 16x8 with 4" BS. Roughly $100 per rim (I think they were on sale and I got em for 85-90 per) and under $200 per tire.

I did have to trim my bumper valance a little bit and do the pinch weld mod. I still rub my washer bottle when my passenger side spring compresses (like doing a U-turn). I'm ok with that though.

As I said, I "think" means not sure. I know 15s won't fit on.my truck.

15s will not fit with the Tundra Brake upgrade, or with 05+ due to the 231mm calipers.

True, if upgrade tundra brake, 15 will not fit. Need 16.

But op is referring to his stock first gen taco, not second gen.

Wait, are you saying that the tundra rotors/calipers will fit with 15" rims?? There are two tundra sizes,
Will either size fit???? What about the smaller tundra rotors/calipers? I'm pretty sure the larger ones will not fit

the original Tundra calipers are the same 199mm as the Tacoma but are a "little" thicker and use different rotors. clearance above the caliper is the same but some 15" wheels will have issues depending on B.S.

Ok great, I would like to up grade my brakes because I have tried all types of different rotors
even the higher grade steel and they all end up warping sooner or later, but I dont want to pay for
new tires and rims, is the clearance issue with the rotors or calipers? The brakes I have drilled and slotted with EBC green stuff pads work excellent until the rotors start to warp,
The thicker tundra rotors would fix my problem, but have not found a link for the 199 conversion with
    the 15" rims.

FWIW, you can find wheels pretty cheap on CL. Might get lucky and find a set you like, all while saving money.

I have 17" Tundra wheels on my truck and they work great. Nothing fancy, but the fit my Tundra 231mm 13WL brake swap just fine and have a smaller 7.5" width that works well with the tall/skinny 255/80R17 Cooper's.

For around this size of tire, I couldn't really find any reason to go smaller or larger; 17's seem like a sweet spot for size and functionality in my mind.

Very nice writeup, this is what I was looking for, but this member didn't say if he had 15" wheels or 16"
wheels, I think a lot of 4runners had 16" rims

Just bought new tires, will cost to much to replace what I have to go the 16" wheels route at this time.

Concerning the Tundra 13wl swap, this is the best write-up I found and what I used. If you're interested in the conversion it might help you out as well.

Thanks looks good and I think from what I have seen the Tacoma caliber and the 13wl 199 caliper are
close to the same size, the 13wl would open wider to accept the thicker rotor, but are the rotors the same height for the 199 setup and the Tacoma rotor, that's the only problem I was thinking about,
A larger rotor might not fit with the 15" rim
