What limits the travel more: the shock or spindle/control arms? :notsure:

I feel like the bama guys are really starting to get a good grasp on variety now... are we missing anything in the extreme subgenres of the truck? (I do realize that, to the best of my knowledge, no one has or really plans to have a track truck or a drag truck, but rob and I could easily fill that niche if the need arose with minor modifications)

Yeah, the kid who I bought it from, I was able to tell him more about the truck than what he could tell me. I knew that it had been wet atleast once before the SAS. The original owner who built it, did take it offroad once on the Coke Ovens trail in AZ. There are literally still chalk marks on the frame from when it was being fabbed.

For the work that is done, I could not turn down 13k for a solid built Tacoma.

whenever I see a vehicle that customized I'm more than sure they made a thread on a forum for guidance. all the guy had to do was search "2010 black solid axle swap tacoma" I found the guys threads before I ever created an account.

thank god, get rid of them now.. rockstars belong on "stanced" chevys lol

I'm sure he is a good guy, i didn't mean much disrespect from it, but from our conversations he jumped on something without research and you could tell he was sorta upset from the whole experience.

Yeah you are right about that. The truck was lacking in the TLC department. Steering was all jacked up, rear locker would not disengage, truck hadn't been washed in 4 months sitting under a tree and he could not figure out why he could not sell it. I started polishing the paint this past weekend but still have more work to do. Did the locker mod and tightened up the steering this weekend as well. New clockspring sitting in the boc waiting to be installed

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
What are you doing soon? Shackle flip, new shock mounts, and shocks?

What surprises me about the rockstars is that it what the original owner/builder put on them. There are a few things that I do not understand about the original owner nor the build. There are easily over 10k worth of add on parts with the lift. The original owner paid someone to do all the fab work so that has to be another 2-4k. But it seems like he either lost interest or ran out of money. They did all this work and didn't finish. The trans crossmemeber still has to be modified, front driveshaft made, and the front arb air pump is still in the box.

I would've gave 13k myself and rode around 2wd while collecting parts.

sadly the PO didn't get back with me on facebook till about a month after I messaged him, so i had assumed it sold.

Yeah he was upset, but foolish. He paid 23,500 for the truck last year and solid it to me 1 year later for a HUGE loss. I think he felt screwed, got pissed, said f*** it, and just tried to wash his hands

Jared said that P/O was a bit of a douche. He said the P/O made the truck sound perfect and turn key ready so Jared drove 5 hrs to pick it up. Instead of going home pissed and without a truck, he went home pissed with a truck.
