Yup, snow suppose to roll in late night, ended up coming in at 8am and sticking in the suburbs at 10. Started snowing in atlanta at 930. At 1100 they released all the school and at 1105 the majority of the companies closed and sent people home. I got out of work at 1230 when our office closed, and the major arteries were at a stand still. moved 1 mile in 6 hours.

 

I've emailed Supercrewsounds once a month since i've finished my build. They are still looking for a donor 2014 AC to redesign the box in. I'm bummed because they originally told me one month-ish i'd have a new box sitting at my door and now i'm just getting the what seems to be a runaround. I'll keep bugging them. Everything else with the build is fantastic. Couldn't be happier with the outcome.

 

Those bandpass boxes were made by MTX if I remember right and they are pretty rad! I still have mine that came with a low powered 12" sub which hit pretty good. Blew the sub out and replaced with a better one and was able to crank my amp more. I got asked all the time when I ran that setup if I had 15s. Lol In fact now that I remember it was in my old access cab taco that I had that setup.

 

Well, Supercrewsounds basically stopped responding to my requests for a new box. Disappointed. Anyone who sits in my backseat cannot wear a seatbelt which is unacceptable to me. Otherwise, the sound system is still kicking hard!

 

They don't have the best reputation from what I've read.

 

Why don't you get with Mr. Marv on building you a box? Marv is a solid dude, I'm slowly building my system with his help. He will be building my custom box whenever that time comes.

As someone who had competed in car audio and was/is quite dedicated to the hobby, mr marv is the way to go.

 

I think a Mr. Marv box is definitely something for down the road. I've tried before but maybe I just need to revisit adjusting the box to see if i can make the seatbelts work in the mean time.

 

I'd seriously junk that box but that's just my 2 cents. I've read about them and also know from a creditable source they make false claims on their boxes by the way they measure them.

I haven't read back to see what the issue is so why are you having issues with your seatbelts?

 

The way the box is set in its space allows for literally zero adjustment. It fits so tight against the back of the center console and the back of the cab that you can't budge it at all. Because of that, the rear bottom edge of the box MUST sit low enough against the storage bins in order to fit. With the seatbelt bolts/seatbelts in place it just doens't allow enough space for the box to fit.

If it makes sense, to fit you would need to push the rear bottom of the box up only slightly, but as you can see from the picture the center console doesn't allow for any movement forward.

 

Can you shim the box up an inch or so to get clearance for the seatbelts? I built a couple of boxes similar to this for the first gens and had to raise the back part of the box to allow for enough seatbelt room.

 

That is very odd they would build the box in that manner, I agree with mjc251, is there anyway you can shim the box? Have you considered shimming the console or maybe seeing if it could be moved forward some? I have never been in an AC cab so I don't know how they all fit together.

It seems if they would of offset the bottom bracing of the box to the top half it would of fit perfect or just put more of a slant on the top half. That doesn't seem like it would be a very hard style of box to build.

 

Good idea Mark, maybe that's the key I was missing. You're saying try raising both the rear and the front together? I've only been trying to raise the rear of the box but hadn't thought about raising the front as well. Its just so damn tight in the space.

 

Reviving an old thread. I was able to lift the rear just enough to get the seatbelts in but now the rear of my center console is lifted slightly off the transmission tunnel. Not enough to even notice so i'm okay with it.

Oh and Supercrewsounds never continued a conversation with me about sending a new box. The one I have is working fine and the legs not reach the floor is purely a cosmetic thing so i'm not going to pursue any further.
