No sir, I can look again but I don't think I've had that issue.

hmmm...my cable is scrapping right along the lower part of the cutout for the fairlead. Does your synthetic fairlead cover that metal?

I am thinking I will have to put spacers under the winch to raise it up a bit.

Yeah mine doesn't scrape. Do you have pics of where it's hitting in your build thread?

Mine doesn't rub, it's close, but I'd have to see it under load to really tell.

How do you like the Smittybilt XRC 9.5k winch? Any problems ever?

It's a great winch for the price, but I think I'm gonna try to get a Warn soon. No real issues with the Smitty, but I've used it quite a bit and in my opinion it doesn't really compete with the Warn in the long run. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't plan on using their winch a ton or for hard pulls.

Do you think lack of use is an issue with these winches? I have a buddy who bought a Warn specifically because he doesn't use his winch a lot. He said they "sit better" lol.

If so, Cdharris89, you might want to check back with me in a month or so. I just installed the smittybilt, and I will be using it a lot this spring. I will of course be using it offroad, but I will also use it for minor logging, dragging rocks and various redneck activities. IOW, my winch will get used a lot.

I too will be interested to see if it holds up.

I think using the Smitty regularly is a good thing. I know some people tear them down and use more grease when they put them back together and get good results. The big thing I noticed is the difference in pulling speed and less free spool resistance with the Warns I've been around. I really think the Smitty is a great winch for the money.

So my jeeper buddy did my cab mount chop for me. It still needs a little work but I can turn to lock on the passenger side and almost to lock on the drivers side. We are gonna do a litttle more cutting and call it good, but I'm pretty satisfied so far.

I went and did a little wheeling yesterday and was pretty impressed with the performance of these new tires.

I went for a little drive with @DarkShark and his new ride. I tried my best to get stuck.

I like them so far. They did really well in the mud and handle pretty good on the highway. Not loud, but I am getting a little shimmy at about 45mph, I think I might have to get them balanced again. I need to see how they are aired down and really put them to the test.

**Update** Shimmy due to a bunch of mud caked on inside of the passenger front wheel. Washed it off and the shimmy is gone.
