I have three issues on my new 2017 Tacoma Limited I cannot seem to resolve or find answers to. I did several searches and read about them but still have the following. Can some of you experts help me out?

    1. I cannot figure out how to receive text messages on my Navigation Screen. According to what I have read, this should be possible???

    2. I read if I hold down the "End phone conversation" button on my steering wheel, I should be able to communicate with Siri. Is this accurate?

    3. I have a cargo bed light switch. I'd like the light to come on when I open any of the doors. I have the switch on "ON" but the light never turns on. In fact, I have never been able to get the light to turn on regardless of the switch position. Am I missing something?

Thanks for helping a newbie! There is so much to learn abouut these trucks!

3 sounds like a problem, take it to dealer unless you want to check fuse/bulb/connections

    1. The Truck will read out the texts when driving. You can't read them as it is distracting.
    2. Hold the Start conversation button. The upper button for about 3 seconds then you can ask Siri a question. Your iPhone must be connected by bluetooth for this to work.
    3. Check your fuse or take back to dealer under warranty. It should come on when the door opens or switched to on.

I looked in the owner's manual and could not find a list of fuses. Does anyone know what fuse and/or which fuse box the cargo light fuse is in? Thanks!

    Look below the steering column.
Find fuse box. It has a white cover with labels on it.
Should be a fuse for cargo lights. 7.5a IIRC

Mine did this on the drive home from the dealership. Never again, and I can't for the life of me figure out why!

If you have contact shortcuts programmed on your home screen, then the text voice read function will not work with iPhone. Also make sure you have notifications enabled in your iPhone bluetooth Toyota Tacoma device settings. I believe this is off by default.

I once got it to read a message. No clue what I did or didn't do differently. Usually it just tells me that I got a message... thanks.

Checked the Cargo Light fuse and it is good. Replaced it anyway just to be certain. Any other ideas as to why it is not turning on? Does it need to be night time?

Could also be a faulty switch or the LED lights are toast. Let the Dealer look at it. Maybe you'll get a free wash out of it.

After about 4 months of trying, I got it to read the texts for about 2 months then it stopped. I've bever been able to get it back. I've given up on it. The contact shortcut comment is not correct. I had shortcuts programmed in when it was working and removing them didn't help.
