Thrown Out of Dealership Today

So, I've had a couple of issues over the past month on my '16 TRD OR, one of which was my fault and the other was a failed part.

1st Problem - Truck overheating at highway speeds - This was detailed in another thread and after a few days at the dealership and them being unable to fix the problem, I finally figured it out. Turned out I didn't clean between the radiator and condenser good enough. My fault.

2nd Problem - Truck shaking at idle. 2 more days and a tech case opened with Toyota and they were unable to find the problem and told me that it was normal. I specifically asked them to check all motor mounts and body mounts and they told me they were all in good condition. It shook so bad it caused a 20oz bottle of Dr. Pepper to pressurize and overflow when I opened it.

Long story short, I did some research and found that the front body mounts (radiator support) were worn out after 15k miles. I r&r'd them with Energy Suspension Poly mounts and the shaking is gone. I took the worn mounts in to the dealer and showed them and asked why they weren't inspected. They had no answer.

I posted a review of my experience on their FB page shortly after and begun reading the other reviews. A total of 57 reviews had been written in the past 4 months about this dealership and all were negative toward the service department.

Fast forward to today: I scheduled my 15000 mile service and brought the truck in to have normal service completed. The service manager came to the waiting area and in front of everyone said, "That was a nice review you put on Facebook, do you really expect us to service your vehicle after making something like that up? You need to leave, NOW." So, in front of everyone, this no-talent fuck-weasel accused me of making this shit up! By this point, my anger level was approaching the red, so I simply stated that my review was spot on and told him that it must be awful embarrassing to have so many negative reviews. I left without causing a scene and contacted Toyota Corporate who gave me the name and contact info of the owner of the dealership.

We shall see where this goes. In the meantime, I now have to drive to another dealership 1 hour away to get serviced.

Good on you for keeping your cool. I however would not have been able to after some bull shit like that. I suppose I'll gain patience with age.

Any word from the owner yet?

Should have done that after they mishandled the first issue. I usually avoid the dealer in my area because they are inexperienced with trucks.

Necessity. They opened the case on the overheat issue and the shaking started after it overheated so I took it back to them just in case.

 

Can a Toyota dealership really refuse service to someone? Especially under warranty?

 

You are likely black balled at the dealerships within a 300 mile radius. You don't really think they are going to do anything for you, do you?
