I'm a lawyer, specializing in bird law. It doesn't apply here, so I can't contribute anything.

@Trident904 Regardless, their negligence and attitude towards you especially after your long history with them is ridiculous. I'd be just as pissed

Below is a link to Florida trespass law. Also, there is no law or policy that requires a dealer to accept your business BUT they are REQUIRED to perform warranty work under their dealership agreement with the manufacturer. Definitely take this up the chain to Toyota. Finally, refusing to serve is just stupid for a variety of reasons. One is that any lawyer could make a civil rights case out of this and say you refused my customer because of his race, gender, etc., and that is stupid these days. Refusing for constitutionally protected speech is also not smart. I would slam these guys even worse after this and we all should too if they don't relent but I wouldn't do anything that would cause more inconvenience for OP.

Any case involving birds. Birds of prey are the main culprits.

My dad owned a ford dealership for awhile and was GM for quite some time before that. He could tell some crazy stories about dealing with customers. Customer service is a bitch. Car Industry is a cutthroat business. Now he owned back in the 90s to early 2000s and times have changed but it's still a very tough business to be in. When he was the GM at Jet Chevrolet in the Seattle area he had a guy get up, pissed off that they wouldn't give him some concession on a deal. Now as the guy walked out he walked around the side of the table where my dad was sitting and sucker punched him in the back of the neck while he was still seated. Of course the guy got arrested for assault my dad had to go to court because he pressed charges and he had to deal with all of that shit. Yeah if you throw out an unruly customer sometimes it is to try and avoid the situation blowing up into something worse. Corporate has influence but if you buy a Dunkin Donuts or a Ford Dealership, you own rights to that physical property more often than not. Could corporate revoke your rights to be a franchise holder for an egregious violation? Sure. Under the right circumstances

You own it subject to your franchise agreement which could require you to do things you may not want to do, including warranty work for customers you don't like.

I did nothing that would get me thrown out. I stayed calm, he loudly asked me to leave and said not to come back.

Im sure under those circumstances that your pops was within his own right. Customer is upset that he wouldn't get a bonus OUTSIDE of contract. He furthermore proved to be a "danger" to the work place and other customers. I could totally see that, but a facebook comment along with 56 others and just wanted what was due on his contract?

I think where the void is is how much Toyota corporate would get involved, vs saying you know what. I don't like that GM, why don't we have Mr.XXXX go to this location instead. It wouldn't be hard to make this a special case with how blatant they were in ousting the OP. Thanks for sharing the story though, I agree this business is full of all sorts of types.
