SmittyBilt Cooler

Bought me a SmittyBilt cooler thinking it was gonna go easy on the battery. But everytime I plug it in and leave it on even for a few hours it drains the battery. I thought it was suppose to use minimal power when plugged in. Can anyone assist me on why its doing the complete opposite of what they claim it can do

Information and help from those who own this cooler or have worked with them before would be great. Not needing educated guess or scientific algorithms from people who think they know whats going on.

I am looking for answers and help from those who own this cooler or have actual experience with them. I am not looking for some scientific algorithm that 90% of forum members provide when they have no clue what it is I need help with. But thanks anyways

The reason you are going to get from most people is that smittybilt makes low quality knockoffs of other companies and produces them in China. They are very rarely as good as other products that are supposed to do the same.

I don't have the cooler, but that would be my answer

 

If youre thinking ARB makes their coolers in AU you would be mistaken as they to are made in China as most other companies have chosen china as well.

 

Never said that but there is an obvious difference in quality. There is a reason smitty stuff is always cheaper. Not that it's always a bad thing. Sometimes cheaper can be better. Just have always heard the worst about smitty electronics

 

@Country are you running it in economy mode or regular? I think I might know what the issue is.

 

Im doing ECO mode and have the switch on "LOW"

 

Never mind. I read a few reviews that it will drain extremely quickly out of eco mode. Sorry I couldn't help more.
