Yeah, I thought this was brought up yesterday. It maybe another member here. I cant remember who posted the other thread. But if it's 2 seperate cases, I'd be wondering about the reliability of the SC.

Dude, get rid of the SC it's shot. Will it still work stock? The $tealer will continue replacing parts, they will rack the bill up to 4 grand if you let them. Just get rid of the damn thing.

if they replaced something and that wasnt it, i'd be expecting my old part to go back on there. might wanna try an actual local mechanics shop. the stealer is just gonna rape u for as much as they can get. i'd be having words w/ the service manager or toyo HQ

why you say the sc is shot? all cylinders still have good compression... i told him yesterday to stop replacing parts. then he put 400 bucks in the coil packs that were fine and he cant take them back now..

I don't know if it's shot. I guess if it was me, I'd like to see if the truck would run without the SC. If so, then I'd throw the SC in the dumpster and drive it stock. You can spend a fortune trying to diagnose this problem, problem is they ain't diagnosing the problem. They're shotgunning it on your dime. I don't know how rich you are, but if it was me I woulda chucked the SC by now.

That's cool, but man shotgunning the problem is too expensive for me.

sounds like a bad ecm? it has nothing to do with the sc unless its not making any boost. if that was the case the compresion would be low. sounds like you need to bring it to somebody who knows tacomas. sometime dealers hae no clue and its sad.

yea i had some shop tell me it was the ecm but then toyota said there isnt a new one available in the united states at all! i would have to get mine rebuilt for about 1300 bucks and it takes 3-4 weeks.... that was my first instinct that the computer was out but they seem to think it is something else. when they hook the scanner up to it they cant reconize the computer.. and that usually means it is junk but they said thats not true...

bullshit.......i would tell them to quit with the new parts, and if the old coils are good......hell yeah they can put them back!!! the stealer is just in it for the $$$!!! get the truck back and take it to a local shop that you may trust.......guarantee you they will fix the problem!!!

you need to tell them that you want every old part back too man..........you could end up getting $$$ back from the dealer when you get the truck fixed. and for the ecm.........try alot of junk yards, and even dealerships that are junking the rusted tacomas....you may find one that way. sorry to hear of all the crap you are going thru man!!
