I was getting the run around from nearly every DFW area dealer about getting my truck with a manual trans. Luckilty I purchased my truck in Austin since they happened to have one in stock. Thing is, I am not going to make a drive out to Austin anytime I need the truck serviced.

That being said, which dealer would you guys recommend for me to get my routine maintainence done at? Somewhere that has good work ethics, organized, and wont have morons putting my filter on incorrectly or crossthread my drain bolt..

I've had some good experience with the folks at Toyota Plano. Nothing major performed on the truck though, just standard maintenance. Also be sure to book an appointment, they're always slammed.

Avoid Richardson. I've been happy with the service at Toyota of Dallas thus far, helps that my office is within their shuttle radius.

    You in FTW or Dallas?

If you're in FTW, then try Durant Toyota out in Hudson Oaks.

I've had a really bad experience at Toyota of Fort Worth. I've heard Freeman is shitty too.

Really they all suck. You should wrench it yourself.

I would and could wrench it myself, however if I am getting free service for a certain time, I would like to take advantage of that.

I had terrible experiences with Vandergriff and Durant, but that was mainly with the sales side. I am in Arlington, but will be moving to Dallas in a couple months. Would be nice to find something in that area. If not, ill check out Dallas or Durant.

Vandergriff is a bunch of slimey assholes.

I was hoping to hear Freeman was a good one since it is just a few miles from either my house or my work. Oh well.

Nope, Freeman refused to order my truck, said I could be put on a 6-month waiting list and they would call me when a Tacoma (any model/color) came in.

Emailed Durant and they ordered the exact truck I wanted the next day. Had it 3 weeks later (August 2016).

That's ridiculous. I wonder if the service department is any better? Unlikely, since that sort of thing usually comes from the top down.

I will say the Freeman service dept it pretty top notch. Quick to listen and hear what im saying. Had an issue and the lead tech came out and said "let's go for a ride". He confirmed it and knew exactly what to do.

I haven't had them do any major work but still pleased. I hear they use tandam auto for their lift installed and aftermarket add-ons. Can't confirm that though.

Freeman has been good to me. Bought my truck there and only had 10k and 20k services done, but i have no complaints.

Good to know. I have the 75k service coming up and going there would be really convenient.

Free service is worth what you pay for it, as simple as the oil change is on these trucks it's worth the $40 of oil and 30 minutes of time to not let the new guy touch it

I have heard that if some type of failure occurs down the road, that the warranty would not be honored if the vehicle was not serviced at the dealership.. is that true?

Completely false as long as you service it at the recommended intervals

Plano was good to me. Richardson was a shithole that pissed me off multiple times.

Our service department is rated #5 in the country per the President's Association, and I've never heard of a bad service experience with us.

Shoot, we service everything from Toyota to Porsche, and everything in between.

Give us a visit if you'd like, and I'll get you a shop tour as well.

    PM me your info.
