Exactly my point. Though I don't know if water/meth is even needed with the TRD kit since it was intended to be a bolt on addition to the stock truck. URD kit, different story. ;)

That's true but unless you're tuning on the ragged edge you'll be ok in most situations. You can also get a flex fuel sensor that measures the ethanol content (E85, E70, E60, etc) so you can see what you're getting. Some advanced ECUs can then take this reading and adjust the map too.

Yeah I'd run water meth not e85 to both cool the blower and add octane

I'm just wondering whats the point for a daily driven, non high performance vehicle that cant really be tuned to take advantage of it? e85 runs a lot cooler, so you can effectively increase timing significantly in boosted applications without dealing with predetonation knock. But e85 also has to run a lot richer mixture. "more fuel for the amount of ait". So fuel efficiency is also greatly reduced... So, I'm just really wondering, whats the point, unless you are racing.

Yeah I ran a water/meth system on my setup. I didn't like always having to make sure the reservoir was adequately full. Also the nozzle for these mater/meth systems don't spray as well as an injector under psi

i should have elaborated a little more.......
the issues we were having wasnt the ratio of gas : ethanol.
it was the ratio of e85 : water....thats what i meant by purity. no one around here had any decent e85. i never trusted it, i always stuck with c16

Oh, gotcha. Yeah that will ruin your day in a hurry. And you're lucky to have C16 so readily available. Would have made life with my RX7 a whole lot more fun!

Seeing that there are spare inputs/outputs, wiring in a content analyzer should be possible. Then tuning it should be fairly easy.

Contact Gadget, or Scott, and see what they say.

I am about to do this myself. I picked up the GM flex fuel sensor. I just have to get off my lazy ass. You should run the sensor just so you know whether you are E85 or somewhere between E85 and E10.
I went a little crazy and made the Haltech Elite 2500 work on the +09 trucks but that is going to add some big $$ to your project. There is some chatter about OEM ECU tuning on here but nothing concrete yet.
What I did was get the truck running ok on boost with 80lb injectors, and the fuel pump upgrades both rated for E85 on a Unichip. Yes, a Unichip. It worked well but didnt have the closed loop tuning to do anything crazy with because the OEM would always tune it back to 14.7. Easy workaround, always beat on it at full throttle,or open loop! ;) I then took it a step further to the Haltech and now I am ready to go E85 once I get boost controller installed and get that map fine tuned it will be on the sensor and E85 with a goal of 10psi on a stock engine. I imagine if I made 323-350 (different dynos different results) on 93 without cam control I will surely make better mid range and should get to over 400 easily on E85.
