was at the dealer today getting my service and I noticed they had a lifted Tacoma on the floor so I asked about a lift kit control arms shock struts or whatever it is my friend said I needed ..... anyways they said they didn't have anything and I noticed they lifted their showroom Tacoma with legit looks like blocks .. they called it a levelling kit.....

long story short my friend can get me the levelling kit for a hell of a price ... is it worth it or should I wait to find something that fits and do it legit.....I don't 4x4 with the truck just use it for camping and work

I don't use mine for major off road so to me a leveling kit is plenty saves me a lot of money but I still get more clearance. Mainly do dirt roads so bad areas are few and far between. But I'd say if you do intend on more extreme stuff later I'd recommend a full on lift. I've had both and both have their positives. So go forth and do whatever you heart desires.

Leveling kits are cheaper because they have compromises, that said they make it sit higher and look better with slightly bigger tires.

Most people that have installed the block style leveling kit have had vibrations due to cv angles and require a special bearing/bushing to remove the vibes.

What I suggest is run a spacer for now, run down the shocks and replace the whole system when you find the limitations of it and figure out what you truly want down the road.

If all you care about is looks, and don't mind reducing resale value, get a leveling kit or spacers. Cheap, tall leveling kits often include permanent frame modifications (e.g. Drop bracket lift).

If you want to improve your truck install a suspension upgrade.

Every truck is different (just ever so slightly enough to wreck your fucking plans) but skip those gnarly spacers toyota puts in. If you don't wanna fire up the parts cannon and shell out for adj resi coil overs I don't blame you. Not everyone needs shocks that can cycle Through and survive 48 hrs of whoops..if it's not your thing thats cool too. I don't know at what all height everyone is sitting at, but I put in toytec half inch spacers and from ground to fender I'm at 37 inches with the height I got from the 265/75/16. That's plenty huge for off roading. More huger than I wanted but considering the spacers were solid and didn't rape my geometry or anything negative I'd say just do that. Or something else. Also my ride is still smooth af.
