Engine problem Please help!

Hello everyone I have an 02 Tacoma and recently washed the engine bay. After cleaning the engine bay my truck seems to have a weird rumble when I start to accelerate but then smooths out, could someone please help me on what I should do? Thanks

 

Wait for it to dry out. I just did the same thing and read a bunch of threads saying that water gets into the spark plug coils and interrupts the sparks. If you wait about a week it should go away - that's how long it took for me, but if you want to expedite the process, take out the coils packs / boots and dry them off with a paper towel or compressed air.

 

take compressed air to EVERYTHING under the hood. every electrical connector and pull the spark plug boots out of the cylinders. blow air down in there to get all the water out.

 

Nothing wrong with doing that, but if it sounds like this, you should be all set before long:



Edit: I still think I'm going to check the boots this weekend. Not sure if it's running a little weird. I had covered my fuse box so I'm not too worried about that.
