Ahh, I know where you are. But yeah when you come over to see my place we can talk.
I used to work next door to one of those places in the mountains.

so it's a 2 car garage.... I found some 9' x 16' garage doors ranging from $780 - $1200 which isnt too bad.... $250 to install.... and $800-ish to reframe the door... so entire project I'm looking at $2,000-$2500 so I'm happy.... then I would have 9' garage doors :bananadance:

because w/ the current doors, I know the 4Runner wont fit... and after Saturday, the Tacoma wont fit haha... thank God the (hopefully) new place has a 100 yard driveway lol

    this. minus the working out....

    #GovtContractorProblems

I refrain from coffee until I get to work for that exact reason. haha

I can see the Washington Monument from my office..... across the River...... on JBAB.... you all should be able to piece it together

YES! but I found a fix!

I was drinking (decent) coffee like starbucks, Kona, etc... (I have a coffee maker on my desk so I just bring in whatever I want) and I would get the WORST heartburn every morning and every afternoon coinciding with my coffee rituals... I switched to crappy original "Folgers" and no more heartburn at all..... I'm going to switch back to a better quality, less acidic coffee

I am a contractor as well, but I have access to the gym up here.

I've tried cheap coffee and expensive, it's all coffee no matter how acidic. It sucks. I also get heartburn from water sometimes...

I am lucky that I don't like coffee and know nothing of this pain, morning workout and chocolate for me.

    going to be fun!
Re-framing the garage door opening will most likely be in the 6-10K range do to Re-engineering and new load calculations including the custom garage door. Are you sure there is 15-20 foot ceilings because with the roof pitch and the two front elevation window locations looks like its only about 10-11 feet? Is the garage to right in this interior pic?

From the looks of this picture below and the location of the roof and the garage door looks like a lot of interior and exterior modifications and load calculations will need to be done which means an structural engineer will be needed. Anything can be done for the right price.

I agree, I think the ceiling would be a max height of 12 feet based off the windows.

Garage door heights are typically seven or eight feet tall im 6'3 and so I would only have 2 inch clearance walking in something does not sound right here...

A double garage door measures out to 12 x 7 feet, 14 x 7 feet and 16 x 7 feet most of the time anything beyond that is custom.
