Anyone running TC LCA skids?

I like TC products, but I went with RCI offroad lca skids (aluminum).
They've come in handy already.

Any recommendations on a handheld radio good for couple miles with no line of sight? This is something I've never dealt with but I had no cell service last weekend.

I've got BAMF LCA skids, solid stuff, would buy again.

 

My group has been running Baofeng's for a few years. They're inexpensive and have pretty great signal range. Not sure they'd work for a few miles though. I think ours kinda capped off around 1 mile.

We use these with my group. Good for 3-5miles with the extended antenna. Great for their price.

 

Can't go wrong for $30-40 bucks

 

I've got two of these. Used them over the weekend with my sister and her family when we went camping. I would get the 8 watt radio. Better range. I have a 4w and 8w.

 

Agreed. All of ours are the 8w ones. And still cheap. I think radio+extended battery+extended antenna was around $75

 

Anyone know what the bed rails are rated at weight wise?
Thinking of using @XPOTRPR quick disconnect mount an mounting my Co2 tank. Just don't wana overload the rail

 

Is it sitting on the floor (20lb tank), or are you mounting horizontal?

 

Was considering putting TC 3.5" spindles on my truck and taking out the preload. Pretty sure that for the money I'm going to just do the same with Maxtrac spindles + regear. @Techoma you run MT spindles with no preload, correct?

 

Thinking horizontal, and I believe the tanks just 13lbs but I don't remember

 

For the money, and unless you beat your truck really hard, you will be fine with the maxtracs. I had them on my truck a while back and they were good.

The whole idea with the cam burg and tc spindles is that they are fabricated and not cast, and therefore are supposed to be stronger.

 

Should be fine if it's only that much. Figure a lot of people use the rails to mount hilifts and they're about that weight. And using them to tie down motorcycles, I'm impressed with how well they do.
