Labor day last year. Build date 07/29/16. Included in recall. Will check diff when I get home.

Was planning on taking the taco out to Big Sur this weekend, guess I'll stick with trusty 3rd gen 4runner

 

I just drive with my welding helmet on.

 

I'm going to take it in for my 5k service in a couple days and going to have them look into it. Recall or warranty, the truck is less than 6 months and has already sweated more fluid than my 17 year old Jeep did.

Hell with that, especially if no leak is evident, I'd be taking what I wanted.

And umm I think it does count as having been a previous owner. Not as much but like an LC it adds to ur cool points too.

Doesn't really apply as you joined TW after ur 3 gen purchase tho.

This is why I always look under every vehicle whether new or used prior to purchasing. New buyers should do the same to play it safe.

 

Looks like I'm on the list The letter the OP put up has "Hold vehicle for final remedy (TBD)", but on the recall site, it's saying:

The remedy will involve an inspection to determine if a leak is present between the rear differential and the rear axle. If the vehicle has no signs of a leak, all fasteners will be re-tightened. If a leak is identified, the rear differential carrier gasket will be replaced with a new one, and new fasteners will be installed. If rear differential components are damaged, the rear differential carrier assembly will be replaced with a new one. This remedy will be at no cost to customers.

Are there both OR and Sport models confirmed through the recall site? They have a different rear, so that seems weird.
