Mid Travel BS 2.0

new people come in, thread is exponentially long. Without it being regurgitated, some people would never learn.

 

Google and Search function work pretty well. Seriously if you google anything and just put Tacomaworld in it, it pretty much works better than the TW Search function. Not really ranting here, just seeing it alot more these days.

 

but srsly, i've personally never understood the "search" ranting (not yours). Some of these vehicles like mine are over 10 years old, shits been gone over 100s of times, it happens. People help that want to at this point.

I'm about to lift my tacoma. I was wondering how much more travel the rear end should have vs. the front. Anyone have any ideas?

 

If you flip the shackle you get extra droop so you probably end up around 12" of travel in the rear. that's about perfect for stock width front, but you might have to add a spacer lift up front to get the 25% ratio just perfect. Remember that you can add wheel spacers in the rear to get more travel too. The wider it gets the better.

I highly recommend a drop bracket lift up front combined with a coil spacer and a shock spacer up front, and then 12" blocks in the rear with a flipped shackle. You should be able to fit 12" shocks in the stock points then

Also, get yourself some 26"x15" rims and 35" low profile mud terrains.

 

I would probably add 4" wheel spacers just to make sure he would clear that tire. Better safe than sorry I always say.

I agree. I've always wondered why people spend so much on LT when the same look can be had for just a few hundred in spacers.

I've got 12"shocks and wheel spacers to clear them. Am I mid travel?

Only is you leafs are only good for 10" of travel and you used 12" shocks anyways, and set them up without cycling so you have 2" of uptravel.
