You're absolutely right on this. This was our number one topic to make happen for 2017.

Our list for 2017 was as follows:

    Improved Lead Times
    Website
    Installation Instructions
    New Product Development

As for your comment, I agree 100%. We live in a current age where everyone wants their items yesterday. We see that now, it's rare for someone to be willing to wait for quality. They'll typically skew their decision to go somewhere else if they can get it done quicker.

The challenges on making this work are heavy. To do this it requires stock, and a lot of it. Keeping stock is very expensive. You pay tax on stock, you have to pay for material and labor whether it's sold or not, you have to have a fairly large amount of manpower. This is near impossible for small, new companies. We are still very new and learning as we go. I use to manage a very large sheet metal and weld shop and we pushed for the same. The owner wanted stock because we were losing sales to companies that offered it. Didn't matter that we had the best product. They'd settle for another if they could get it quicker. We made it happen in a two year span, but it cost 10's of millions of dollars in capital funds. Obviously that company was much larger but you er the point.

We already made a big push to make it happen on all the bed accessories and so far it's working. We ship all bed accessories next business day. We are pushing to make it happen on skid plates and recovery bars now too. Then sliders and bumpers.

So yes, we are pushing to make it happen.

Yes sir! We saw early on how popular they were so we made it a priority on how to make one better and sexy.

What about getting some fabrication interns from the local tech school to work on some of your simpler items, eg: bending skid plates and pipes for sliders?

    Free labor?

Shit if I lived there, i'd work for free just to learn how to weld better.

Some of the little accesories might be nice like hi lift slider adapters or hi lift/tool/jerry can mounts for the bed rails. Easy to make.

Haha, that's why I said BENDING metal, not WELDING.

We've looked in to this. It's hard to believe but we are very remote, very. The few people that have come to pick up their orders can attest to this. The closest trade school is 45 minutes away. They have our info and we have theirs. I interviewed a few for a fabrication position before we hired who we have now. The hard part where we are is it is ALLLLLLL farmland. So in the tech schools they're teaching stick welding mostly which is very different than MIG. Also, they're pretty much taught to use a ton of heat because as long as it holds, it doesn't matter that it's ugly because it's on an old tractor. There's a big difference between a welder and a fabricator.

We did pick up a newbie and I've been teaching him the ropes of running the bender, saw and even some welding.
