@1ChrisRuck see this thread turned into the real thread. Good job Op. Now if we can all behave ourselves maybe we wont end up like Smitty and get banned.

I'm surprised it wasn't @Joe23 That got banned. Not that his post wasn't epic. ..

Is it lonely around here or is it just me? Never thought I would miss Smitty this much. Guess I'll have to actually talk to my wife tonight.

Looks like my diff is leaking in a couple of spots. It doesn't seem like much has seeped out. Do you guys recommend pulling the fill plug and checking the level before driving any further? If so, anyone know what size socket that's going to require?

Just take it to the dealer when you can. Someone already sheared a lug trying to torque them down themselves. Recall or not a seeping diff should be at least covered under warranty.

    +1

There is actually a pic in that thread the guy posted. It's of the bolt after he sheared it....

I wouldn't touch it bro, let the dealer deal with it ! You touch it they'll blame you. My friend who has the same manufacturer date as mine took his in for leaks on the diff and they asked him if he loosened the bolts lol..
Thank goodness it's a recall now so we can get it fixed before it grenades ! Mine is fine but I only have 8400 miles on her. My friends started around 10k.

Edit: forgot to mention his truck was at the dealer for almost 2 weeks, so make an appointment with a free loaner if you are comfortable with the waiting time for that kind of appointment...

Ya, I'm hoping they can take care of it sooner rather than later. Thanks
