Yeah i was leaning towards that mavic for sure. But the wind ability kinda is lame. I would probably only break it out on mountain tops and camp most likely. And it's pretty windy up there! haha

The Yuneec stuff is cool i think because the controller has the transmitter in it so don't have to worry about that. Plus comes with a hand held gimbal too. The Typhoon H is even cooler but much bigger but costs less then the mavic.

Would be doing it for video for sure or photos.

IMO, this guideline should be applied in all types of spending. Your dollars are the only real vote you have. Vote wisely.

I can't imagine doing some of the stuff we do dragging a trailer around. Think about what it would have taken to get out to the doll house with one of them things.

 

So even a 5x9 you might find pretty small inside once you get a duffle of clothes and some other junk in the sleeping cabin. And with a baby/kid, they'll take up that much more room with their bodies and their diaper bag and clothes and shit. God they need a lot of shit early on. And then they go to sleep early and the last thing in the world you want to do is wake them up when you get in a change for sleeping etc. later. We still have not gone with him. We probably should have snuck in a trip when he was a peanut, but it was winter and we were totally sleep deprived, plus holidays and shit. Then once he was crawling, we figured what is the point if he is spending the whole time crawling in the dirt and getting filthy. So we said fuck that. And life has just been too hectic all last year to try anything since.

I want to do a short overnight with him soon, after we are moved into our new house. Just to figure out how it will work. I may need to put a platform in the back of the truck for mom and dad after he is asleep in the trailer. Or mom and he can have the trailer. Down the road, I am thinking RTT that can be mounted either on the truck cap or on the trailer depending on the type of trip we want to do. And I would do at least a 3-man RTT for flexibility if I went that route. And then sometime I think fuck it, I'd just get a big ground tent.

 

yeah i wouldn't want the restriction.

Thank god Ben never finished his..with the way he bitches about hard trails now he'd never go down anything with rocks with a trailer haha

Still, i believe everyone gets their share of explosions. Especially since our trucks are just..well..old now. Frankenstein is 20years old now. Things are just going to start wearing out.

 

Yup. Placement was based on access. Greater access to engine working at angle vs straight in. Can come in from side door along edge of office and bathroom instead of coming from far side across middle of shop. Having it angled keeps it closer to the wall so we can get combines in and tucked against same wall. You can see the tip of the auger on the side of the pic. There are actually two combines ass to mouth on that same wall.

 

sad but true!

Hopefully we won't have to start stocking up on OEM parts anytime soon.
