Priced a solid rear window.

I had my glass guy fixing a leak on my other vehicle yesterday and asked what it would cost to swap out the slider on my 09 dbl cab for a solid rear glass.

$550.00 his cost on the glass! List is something out of this world

I decided to wait a bit as I do not need it done and only want it done for my taste. Little bit steep for now.

I so glad my truck came with a solid rear window.

 

Safelite is a big franchise auto glass company, they have awesome prices and warranty for life. i got my rear done for $345 out the door and theycame to my house and install. They have a website.

 

are your girlfriends escaping through the slider,and thats why you want a solid?

 

That is a decent price. Did you swap from a slider to a solid or just replace the solid?

 

^ My chiropractors bed went through my window when i was helping him move locations. I got a slider to replace the OEM. Im guessing it would be cheaper to get a solid one frome them.

 

I wanted a solid rear window until I had to haul some 12' sticks of self edge for our kitchen countertops. I had to stick them through the sliding rear window.

thats insane! The rear window on my bronco (electric) broke and it only cost 80 bucks for a new one. I had to do the install though.

 

Did not see any solids in there on CRLs site just sliders

 

Why do you want a slider? What do you use it for? I don't like two vertical bars and a lump in my rear view--the headrests already block enough. I'd much rather have a solid rear window with a defroster than this slider, which I'll never open.

 

I guess there is a first for everything Not sure I've ever heard of someone wanting to swap to a solid rear window from a slider. I've always heard / been the opposite.. a sliding rear window was always something I looked for in a truck. Different strokes for different fokes, I guess

 

I'm thinking safelite on this one. $550 is way expensive. My windshield was quoted at $350 out the door at safelite.

And I like sliders, personally, but it's all personal preference. I also like the pop-out extended cab rear windows. I'd love to have a sunroof too...

 

i open my slider alot during the spring and fall weather...good when you are going down the insterstate so the wind isn't blowing you around like crazy if you rolled the windows down...lol

 

Same here. I put a towel on the dash and hauled 16' oak trim. I always made fun of people for doing stuff like that but what are you going to do with a 5' bed

 

Now if I had a solid that retracted that would be the shit!!

 

I use it to talk to my dog when she's riding in the bed when I'm stopped at traffic lights.

Wish it was power though.

 

Wish mine was a solid. They look much cleaner.
