Lots of folks put Talon grips on the Shield. Some also change out the sights.

With the likelihood of Chads truck going off road and doing any flexing (beyond running over a speed bump at an odd angle) the chances of rubbing are somewhere between slim and none. My front lift sits at roughly 2-3/4" above stock ride height. I'm on stock rims, but with 1" spacers. 33" 285/75r16's (TRUE 33") tires didn't even come close to rubbing while on flat pavement BEFORE doing all the cutting and trimming. I've done the CMC, cut the pinch weld off (and welded the seam) cut quite a bit of the inner fender wells, and trimmed some from the fender itself. At the CLOSEST point, I have over 2" of clearance with fully stuffed to the bump stops and full lock turn.

A few days ago, just for schidtts 'n' giggles, we put a buddies 35"'s (on chevy 6 lug rims) on my truck. They aren't "hub centric", so it rode like shit, but they cleared enough to drive 'em to the gas station and back. Point is, they cleared.

I agree 110%...Put the tires/wheels on the truck and see if it's close.....THEN trim. I think he has too much "internet advice" that has created a great deal of confusion, and not enough actual "eyes on the ball" facts. This ain't rocket science....

Guess who is at the bus garage again. Doors are stuck open and flapping in the wind. Probably gonna be in a spare.
Well I guess my wheel chair student will get to train another spare to be a police bus.

Go back and read the post again....Edited..

I have no idea what the back spacing is....Stock TRD OR wheels with 1" Bora spacers. Seriously.....Get a tire....ANY 285/75 and mount it on one of your rims....do a test fit. See if you're in as much peril as you think, THEN do any cutting you need. Don't chop up the truck based on theories. You'll be sorry afterwards.

I appreciate the help, I really do.

I've been talking to a guy with my exact same wheels and he had some serious rubbing with the tires I want.

Just kinda going with my research really.

And research shows there will be rubbing

    Not this kind either :jerkoff:
