After driving it today in bright sunlight the optics seem absolutely perfect. If no leaks I am a happy camper.

Yup, did a shifty job, leaked and put a huge dent in the hood of my vehicle. They didn't say a word like they had done a good job. Fuckers.... I did call them out and they replaced and paid for a dent repair. But obviously the guy knew he fucked up, but didn't take ownership. Also, they use a one man mechanism that hangs off the driver door window. Sorry, but door windows aren't meant to to hold that much weight.

I went to another glass repair shop for a different car. Really nice people and we talked, they also indicated the one man repair can cause damage to the door window and weaken the mechanisms. Their recommendation was a two man window replacement. The car I had there took them about 20 min.. two men,

I plan on using that shop again, they are locally owned/operated.

    Never again Safelite.

Safelite wanted to repair my windshield for over 200 dollars but my deductible was 500. Ended up finding a local glass shop that installed a new windshield for about 115 cash.

I have USAA as well. Had a chunk of metal fly off a tractor trailer and put a bullseye about the size of a nickel. The kid from safelite came out and said it was impossible to fill the bullseye because there was no impact point. There was clearly two impact points 180 degrees apart on the bullseye. Hoping to get take it by their shop for a second opinion.

I had rock hit my windshield a couple of years ago and it cracked. USAA member as well; I agreed to let Safelite do the work and was adamant I wanted OEM glass. I had to wait a little over a week for the OEM windshield to arrive.

It's been two years now and thousands of miles - no leaks or issues to report.

For those of you that are set on OEM replacement parts, call your insurance agent and specific this. I have an OEM only parts clause on my policy, and it only cost a few extra dollars every renewal cycle. It paid off big time when I hit a deer last summer. No aftermarket junk panels or parts and a much better quality repair.

When I need a windshield and pay my standard $100 glass deductible, they install OEM glass and seal without hassle or fuss.

Which insurance company do you use to cover your Tacoma? This is interesting, I've never heard of an OEM parts clause before. Very cool.

I concur, OEM parts are the way to go with any repair.

Nationwide...while any insurance claim is frustrating, overall they have treated me a pretty well the last 15 years.
