    .
I found that 35/36 PSI in all the tires (front & rear) works best and gives good mileage.

265 70 r17 here Hankook Dynapro ATMs I'm running 34 right now what should I run for a good tread life or gas mileage? It rides ok right now but I've been wondering what method would be the best. I think I've read to many different ways now lol.:mudding:

Mine have had over 60 in them since I bought the truck. I let some air out yesterday. I might let some more out according to what everyone else is running in similar rated tires.

I have a 13 Baja with TRD wheels on the door panel it say to run 46 all around. Anyone have an idea why it would say so high?

And that was in 09.....Now......I run 34 front AND rear........it kinda sucks though, as the Heep has a PSI readout of each tire......and.......I see the psi rise as the tire warms..........drives my OCD off the charts.

...^^^... That 36 psi number has been the best all around number on my present and past Toyota trucks (stock type tires).

Best load factor @ best mileage @ best handling @ best wear pattern

B/c the Baja comes with load range C BFG KO's which are a 6ply tire. To give them the same load capacity as the the P-metric at 32psi they have to have the higher psi.

    Got new tires.
PSI numbers were all different on all tires.
Waited for a day I could get up before the sun rises.
Measured and recorded the tires' PSI before the sun shows.
All numbers were different on all tires.
    Went back to sleep.
Got up at around 10 am.
    Went to the gas station.
Measured and recorded all tires' PSI readings.
I added/subtracted air as needed to match the air I needed before the sun rose.

Basically, I got the amount of air I thought I needed based on the readings before sunrise. Not the amount of air based on the current readings to have all PSIs read how I want them to at that point.

    Questions:
    Am I missing something?
Is 1 PSI at 60F different from 1 PSI at 90F?
Or, is a PSI = a PSI no matter what?

You can also just over fill at the pump-- and then go home, let your truck sit overnight, and then just release air until they're at the pressure you want.

The pressure you want is cold tire pressure. Let's say 34psi. Once you start to drive the air inside gets hot and pressure rises. Let's say 2psi. So if you check after driving you will get 36psi and if you check in the A.M. you will get 34psi again.

I think there's a standard rule... something like if the hot psi (after highway driving for awhile) increases more than 4psi above cold psi (ex. in the morning), then you're running too low of a pressure for that vehicle/tire combo. Or maybe it's an increase of 5psi. I can't remember for sure.

I consistently run and monitor 30 PSI in all four of my 285/75/16 Cooper St Maxx, Load Range "E" tires and seem to not have any issues with uneven wearing or anything else. If anyone has any questions/comments, please let me know, as I would love to bounce ideas off of one another.

Around 7% increase in tire pressure from cold to stabilized running temp is an old standard, used by motorcyclists and many car racers for maximum traction. If one is aiming to maximum tire wear and fuel efficiency or carry a load, this would demand higher pressure. If you're after traction and flotation crawling in deep sand and mud, drop the pressures considerably but make sure you can air them back up before you speed up on paved surfaces.

My '17 Gen3 OffRoad came from the dealer at 33-34 ps, with one psi gain after 2 hours of driving. My ride home has miles of unpaved washboard and deteriorated potholed ancient tarmac sections, and the truck felt jarring at speed, and much harsher than the Gen2 '12, which I always kept at 30psi. Dropping the Gen3 to 30psi with a light load made for a nice, supple and well controlled ride on the bumpy stuff and a 2psi increase from cold.IMG_0849.jpg
