Also Op you have take with a grain of salt on threads like "What did you pay for your 2017 Tacoma"

The guy that got his for 36k OTD most likely has a basic package with towing as the only option with some adds. *Not singling out any members just a reference point

It varies a ton, me being in Socal and wanting the "fully loaded" package gave me almost no wiggle room, but I had time on my side.

Telling us what you want helps in helping you

If you have the time play the game, don't settle

From my experience, and from what I've learned through research, walking into a showroom and dealing with a lot salesman is the worst thing a car buyer can do. Internet and Fleet managers know the dealerships numbers, where they are in relation to their sales targets, have authority to make deals to meet those targets, and will do so with very little b.s. involved.

Only time I walk into a dealership is for the test drive.

When I did that a few weeks ago, I got the "what do we have to do to get you in this truck today" thing. I said "you can't". He said "come on, surely we can make a deal" I said "sell to me at invoice, and give me 2.25% financing". He laughed like I just told the greatest joke he'd ever heard. "You will never get close to invoice on one of these. In fact we are considering adding a $5k market adjustment to all tacomas, we can't keep them on the lot" (we'd been discussing the $10k market adjustment they had tacked on the Pro). I told him I guaranteed I would. He said he'd bet me $5k I couldn't do it, and gave me the "if we sold cars at invoice, we'd have to close the doors. You know, this is a business. We have lights to keep on and employees to pay". I told him "well, if you're selling these TRD Pro's at $10k over like you say you are, that shouldn't be a problem! Besides, you're bs'ing the wrong guy, we both know you get 2% holdback, 1% financial reserve, and huge incentives from Toyota on top of that for meeting your sales goals". I got the blank stare and *blink-blink* thing in return.

He was right. I didn't get close to invoice. I got $500 below.

Not too much slimier than a lot of these floor salesman out there. Won't deal with them.

Agreed, I wanted to test drive the new generation before picking one up. That's the only reason I dealt with them. The saleswoman even told me there wasn't the exact model with the options I wanted within 500 miles. I found 2 at the dealership I went with about 30 minutes after leaving.

I'm in Ohio - The MSRP on my Sandy TRD Sport, was 40,587 w/ Sunroof, Upgraded JBL, Tow Pkg, Tonneau, Nav, Heated Seats etc, Sonar, yada-yada! My dealer knocked off 2,587 which got me to 38,000. Then there was the tax at 6.5%, Doc Fee and Title and license fees. I was offered about the same price at another dealer for the same Sandy DC with out the upgrades for 39,950. It was easy for me to make my decision. The Sales guy was up front about the deal he was able to do with no back and forth to his manager and numbers didn't change after I gave him my order! I'm happy to be rockin' my first Tacoma! Just wish it had been assembled in San Antonio, TX instead of across the border! But . . . It IS the New TACO! This should last me a while! No complaints so far.

This. We contacted about 25 dealerships by email. We didn't walk in until they had a deal for us on a truck they had.

Probably the best place. My CU got everything pre-setup for us. I spent 20 min at the dealership.... inspect, buy, leave. It was awesome.

You should be able to get one from a fleet manager for invoice to 400.00 over invoice. As for their fleet department.

Got that email back in June from a place I was looking at, it was a mistake and they had to honor it.

I bought my 2019 TRD Off Road Double Cab Long Bed (non leather/JBL) for ~$32,700, bought it the last day they had the 1500 rebate. Very little negotiating. Mfg was in March, bought April 1. Fresh off the factory in TJ.

If you have the cash, I'd say go with the pro. I'd look around in AZ and CA and look for a good deal $43-48k seems to be par for the course. Havent heard of anyone getting one cheaper than that
