Maybe you should read the link? Including the author's notes in the comments section that both his title and his article were wrong because he neglected to account for the GM line being down for three weeks for retooling and the fact that there actually weren't hardly any diesels available for sale in the period he analyzed?

Again, read it - carefully. Tacoma sold only 76% of capacity and GM sold 85% of capacity.

Can you quote a site that supports that?

    Recalls by year - http://www.toyotaproblems.com/recalls/Tacoma/

Not on the list and leaking. I think Toyota will be expanding this like others have stated.

2nd gens had more recalls than the 1st then which had been out for 10 years. We are only 2 years into the 3rd gen. Plus Toyota won't recall everything that's an issue, such as frames after 2011 and the air injection pump issues on 2nd gens.

In all fairness - you have to compare the data on your table/list as apples to apples to make a meaningful conclusion.

So perhaps add up all the recalls for a particular production year (e.g. 2016's) for the first 2 years after production (e.g. for 2010's how many recalls were there in 2010 and 2011 for that production year).

Who knows how many recalls a 2015 or 2016 will have after 5 years....

The only thing you can say from that table is that the 1998 to 2004's have way less recalls (more reliability?) than anything that came after it. This perhaps supports the idea that since the 1st gen - the # of Tacoma recalls are way up and reliability is going down.

I need to do routine cleaning under my truck and get some fluid film. What kind do you use?
My rear differential isn't really seeping but it is rusty as hell. I only had this truck 6 months and it's rusty. I live in West Virginia and they salt the roads a lot in the winter months. Seems like the folks from California and southern states don't have rusty differentials.

Let's just say I was "asked" to take it down.

All the fuckery that's posted around here...memes, pix and text and somehow a rated PG pic of my wife's cleavage upset the balance :notsure:

My fault assuming we were all adults. o_O

I wasn't attempting to defend the GM trucks, just that the first article linked was flawed.

Thanks for the updated numbers. There are other articles showing similar results. Mid-size contracted across the board in March and so no one was capacity limited. Tacoma still handily outsold everyone else by a wide margin.
