Well today after school i get in my truck to leave. I start it and it starts just fine, i drive it through the school parking lot for about, eh 30 seconds when it sputters and dies. I crank it and it does nothing, seems like a fuel issue to me. While i'm waiting for the tow truck one of my friends drives up and says that somebody fucked with my gas tank (supposedly pissed in it) and he says i should look at my wheel. I check out the wheel and it has some kind of substance spattered all over it, it doesn't smell like piss though. This could all be a rumor and it could of started when someone saw my truck die but i don't know, it seems like an awful big coincidence. So i'm mad and sad that someone would do this to my truck, no respect for someones personal property.
Oh and i pulled apart the fuel line and cranked it and no fuel came out.

If no fuel came out it's probably a fuse, a fuel pump or it's empty. Sucks if someone screwed with your truck, but piss won't make it stop pumping.

My guess is either sugar and water or soda which are essentially the same. Don't crank the truck over till you figure out what went into the tank. If you get a lot of water in the cylinders you could hydrolock the engine. You're probably not at a big risk but I wouldn't chance it till you know what's up.

    Pretty much stock
i highly doubt someone could have pissed enough to mess with the fuel...if you had a decent amount in the tank it would be so diluted that you wouldn't notice it. If for some reason it was alot of piss or not alot of fuel, water remover should take care of it.

If it were me i would check the fuses. You do keep your truck locked right?

I know its not empty, the stuff on my tire didn't smell like piss, i couldn't identify it the smell. So they either put something in it or it was a big ass coincidence.

Thanks for the support everyone! Its at the toyota dealer now..,

Thats bull shit they could have put sugar in the tank. Was there any marks that shows that someone tried to open the fuel cover?

Need to get yourself a locking gas cap. I just put one on last weekend for this reason. It's BS that anyone should have to worry about it, but people are A holes!

Stant locking gas cap FTW. Best $10 I ever spent.

Hope you figure out what's up with your truck.

Makes me want a locking gas cap, seems like a pain though, I guess I could leave the key in the truck, instead of on my key ring though. Is there a certain kind we need?

    This one will work Rhino.

    http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?catalog=153&partnum=10504&a=FR153-10504

The key is really small so it doesn't take up much room on the keychain.

Note to others: I remember seeing that this gas cap doesn't work on the '08's, which don't have a threaded gas cap(?)

I picked one up as soon as I bought my used 1st gen., which didn't have a locking door. Kragen had one that is working fine. I am sure most parts stores would have one for a 2nd gen., or check online. I just kept the original cap in the truck while I ran with the new cap in case there were any weird vent problems etc., but no problema for four months.

They key is tiny, like for the locks on a shell. I hate extra keys, too, but I dont' even notice it.

Better than a locking door, which is easy to pry open if the wanker is motivated.

    Good luck.

FWIW Stant locking gas cap#11509 (non-srew type) still holding up for me!! You know in the wifes 2000 Sienna it has a small lever to open the cover to get to the gas cap, Why can't our trucks have it??
