What type of fabric are you using for the topper? (I apologize in advance if this was already discussed)

@Overlanerd has all the specs. But it's 18oz rubber coated nylon I believe. Nice stuff!

Was it me? I don't remember using those, so sorry if it was :(.

We need to talk about wiring up my locker now. Unsure what to plug in or wire in relation to the solenoid on the compressor.

Also, suddenly my compressor works perfectly fine. Must have bounced the relay back together because both fuses are in and everything is fine lol

Yeah, the weight isn't an issue. Doesn't make sense to go with something lightweight since an extra +/- 20 lbs of fabric won't matter on a truck. Also doesn't make sense to use a breathable fabric since the fan and future windows in the vinyl control the airflow. Waterproof, impermeable fabric and durability are key. It's a similar fabric they use for fourwheel campers. It also adds some insulation and blocks noise.

Today was a good day! I'm getting closer to wrapping the prototype phase of this whole operation.

Amazon was great and delivered a rotary cutter and it cut through this thing like nothing! I've never used one before and don't know how I got by without one. Next step from here is to cut and sew the awning track bead. and some velcro to seal the top and back.

    IMG_9893.jpg

Next I assembled the sleeping platform. The carpet is a different color because I got it done at a stereo shop and this was their "grey", but it works. The platform stacks on top of the first one, pulls out to a full bed, and can be split for seating.

Getting closer! I'm hoping to work on the sewing little by little this week and have it done by the weekend.

Looking good. Its coming together!

Are you using any type mattress or foam pad on top of the carpet?

How much weight do you think the sleeping area can support?

Yes, foam mattress is next. I'm debating on the thickness. If I stack the beds they can't be more than 2". If I don't I can go plush with like 4".

Weight wise, I haven't done any testing. So far me and my wife are no issue. Not even a sign of a bend.
