Hey guys. Just finished installing my turbo in my 2004 v6 taco. I have trd 440cc supercharger injectors but need a bigger fuel pump to keep me boosting through 7psi. That's when it starts to show up as lean on the computer. I was looking at aem fuel pumps. Do I need to get a offset inlet or a center inlet fuel pump? If you have a different fuel pump you would recommend to fit my truck, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks

No, you absolutely don't need a bigger fuel pump yet. I am running 9psi on 550cc injectors and haven't hit limits of stock fuel pump. You need something to tune with immediately. I highly recommend AEM-F/IC 6

I have the fic 6 wired in and working. I only have 440cc injectors and my wastegate is set to 10 or 12 psi. Obviously, I'm going to turn it down before I really get on it but the tuning shop shows a going really lean high in boost

Doesn't necessarily mean you're fuel pump is leaning it out. I'm pulling ~10psi with a 2.1 pulley and 7th injector and the stock fuel pump holds fine. The injectors sound like your bottleneck

They do have fuel pressure test kits but having never used one I don't know if it would work here.

I'm thinking of getting larger injectors, with a stock fuel pump 550 will work ok?
What injector did you get and where?? Did you need an adapter for the wires?

Are you going to use a piggy back or something to tune them with?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/550cc-Toyot...ash=item2cbd9e88b6:g:zkoAAOxy83JRG13L&vxp=mtr exactly what I got. They idle and run perfectly, never know the difference from stock. AFR wandereds at aroudn 1800 to 2k rpm under light load but that's due to the relocated position of the stock wideband o2 sensor. It doesn't do well in a 3" downpipe. The injectors have been flawless and they come with additional pigtails but the stock ones plug right in. I tune with AEM F/IC-6 and can't recommend it enough, it's been a pleasure to tune and log with.

Oh yeah and I'm still on stock fuel pump and pushing 9psi (peak 10 sometimes according to logs)

Well, I'm trying to find my trucks sweet spot on the supercharger with pulley size and
boost using the stock ECU. I have been running 2.1 pulley with zero
ping issues at Arond 6000 feet but only puts out 7 pounds of boost.
So bought a pulleyboys pulley 2" to experiment with. The 2" pulley
is putting out 10 pounds, (big power difference) of boost at 6000 feet, but pings only when
the truck is lugging, no pinging at high rpms, just when in a high gear with
low rpms, so was thinking maybe larger injectors will fix that problem,

Ok great, if I use my ECU is 550 to large, I was running 2.1 pulley with 7 pounds of boost at 6000 feet
with zero issues, no pinging, now I'm experimenting with 2" pulley and have some pinging when on load with low rpm, high rpms there is no pinging and shows 10 pounds at 6000 feet, are you turbo???

Sounds like you will need to be able to pull some timing in the lower RPM ranges.

Yeah man for sure gotta upgrade your ECU if you want to run these. The absolutely will not idle on your stock ECU. I'm pulling -58% fuel from the vacuum portions just to make it idle. The next step is gonna cost ya LOL. The AEM F/IC-6 can be had for around $380 on Amazon so around $700 for injectors and computer (if you can tune it yourself)

Not sure what your setup is, but I can tune closed loop boost, so at -1psi I start enriching the fuel to 13.5 AFR. But 0 vacuum I'm at 13.0, and 1psi it drop to 12.5 and keeps dropping until I hit 10.5 at 9psi (rich, I know) but I have no pinging problems whatsoever and also I only run 93 octane ethanol free fuel. No timing pull necessary. I do pull 1* on the top end just because I'm a scaredy cat.

Also I run an auto on ECT mode and it won't really let me lug it, so another win there.

Maybe I will try a 2.050" 52mm pulley next, sounds like that will be my sweet spot for my ECU on my truck. I'm a little nerve pushing the engine at redline with the 2" pulley without bigger injectors and or an upgraded ECU. I was surprised about
how much more power and boost I got with a 2" pulley

If you're wanting to stay with stock ECU and I can't blame you, get a progressive methanol injection setup. Coolingmist makes a beautiful one (I have it) and you can set it to start spraying at 1psi and ramp up to whatever PSI you're pushing. You can spray blue windshield fluid and even 100% methanol. That would great increase your octane rating cool combustion temp (all of which will net you a sweet HP increase) and likely quit your detonation probs. Also make sure you're useing BKR6E plugs. You don't need to be using the stockers anymore once you go past stock pulley.

There was someone not too long ago on T4R.org selling an FIC that was set up to be PNP for a S/C 5vz. You could probably do searching around on there if you're interested in it
