Shiny! These are some pretty rotors. This was what I got, I did them may 3rd 2016 so almost exactly a year. They are holding up awesome. The rotors don't have the brite shine but still look very nice and no rust at all.

I see what your getting at. Didn't think about that. It does seem you could put the spring on either top or bottom. I got extra springs also.
I don't think I get any noise from the fronts. And they don't dust either.

So I should prolly read the directions that came with the set.
I think maybe powerstop has provided them.
Here is my unopened powerstop spring set..

I'd say the straight ones are the ones you speak of.
Looks like I will be revisiting them.

I'm sure the prices went up and quality went down.

@GHOST SHIP This is where I was talking about the brake pad springs with @Jeffch
I had asked if he did the additional springs. He asked me why I thought it would be necessary.
I had thought due to the rattle and then thought I had seen Nick do the upgrade.
    But it was you, eh?
Any insight on the addition of the springs?
    Thanks. :hattip:

I will be switching wheels soon and I will see if I can find the instructions that came with the powerstop brakes.
I was actually thinking of another of the same. The straight one must just stay in place with pressure and not be held by the pin.

Having a spring top and bottom makes sense the pads won't rub the rotors.

No mention of the extra springs in the instructions.

So now I can't not check to see if those are supposed to be installed and where they go.
They put them in the for a reason.
Should have some kind of info tomorrow maybe. Thinking I'm pulling a wheel in the am.

Gotcha. The addition of the second set of springs is supposed to solve the "click" you get when your brake pads are worn down and the pads will shift slightly in the calipers as you change directions from forward to reverse or vise versa. I added mine as my brake pads are right around the point where they need changing. It helped, but the click is still there, although less noticeable. Other member have noted that after you change the pads, the click should all be gone but will return when they get worn down again. It's one of those charming noises that come with our trucks. Annoying, but not necessarily an announcement of impending damage.

So you used a second spring of the same style?
The power stop kit has those straight ones in the kit.

Yeah it's a second "M" shaped spring that goes on the top and mirrors the lower spring. It wraps around the locating pin for the calipers, so you have to pull the pin out, get the spring in place and replace the pin.

Cool thanks. I like the idea of it being held in place by the pin as the stocks are.
