OK I went and checked at Toyota website and my VIN is not part of the recall. They sold more than 228K 3rd gen trucks in the USA ??

By my count that's over 400 trucks built EVERY DAY for the last 1.5 years (Sept 15).

Skeptical ... this does not make any sense. Toyota says recall all 16 and 17 Tacos and my truck is not part of the recall. Doesn't make any sense to me.

So is this recall for truck owners to go and check the diff ourselves.. confused.

The recall may have to do with the type of differentials that are installed. Auto vs Manual, locker vs non locker, etc

Not on the recall list, no leaks. Was at the dealer for 5000 Toyota care and had them inspect it and retorque the bolts. So far so good for me. Jan. 2017 build date on my Baja built DCLB TRDOR. No poll option for my situation.

The interesting think is too see what happens with those trucks that are not on the list but are leaking.

*retarded service writer / dealer logic.

Toyota issued the recall, dealers are trying to be assholes and skirt around having to do the service. I don't understand WHY, seems like they're just being greedy dickheads.

This is making me have less and less faith in the dealership franchise system.

Shouldn't be a problem, instead of recall work it should be warranty work, fix is probably going to be the same procedure.

Lifted trucks might be a whole new story.

I've got 1500 miles and no visible leaks, but I went ahead and scheduled for this coming Saturday to have it looked at.

So far no manual transmissions are being recalled. Likely the different gearing in the diffs put it in a different production line than had the problem.
