Would You Drive...

I recently received a questionnaire from Toyota (some of you may have been mailed the same one) and it had a question that I thought would be a good TW poll.

 

Good question.....

Hybrid or Electric - I'd only ever consider buying one if they'd make them similar to our current trucks. With the same power, towing/hauling capabilities, travel time/distance, reliability, and worth the $$ to buy it.

 

I chose Hybrid, because Electric = instant torque, or can create. Would be strange driving next to a Prius, with my hybrid truck that still smokes once the engine is on...

 

I voted Hybrid but ONLY if it had the towing capacity I needed. Taking a look at the new Chevy hybrid truck and it has less capabilities as a truck than it's traditional truck brother with a gasoline engine. I bought a truck to use it as a truck not as an urban warrior.

i actually really hope that by 2012 they will have a hybrid tacoma... i will be on that in a second!! Toyota is releasing all their hybrids slowly. if they can make a sequoia hybrid they can make a tacoma hybrid

 

I'd go electric only if the motors had the enough power, and it would have to run off of a hydrogen cell to give it a decent range. Still, it wouldn't feel like a truck should feel, but that's the way technology goes.

 

As Janster said.... its all about the capabilities/price if its similar to my current truck, i would definitely thought about it... hybrid or electric...

I think them hybrid cars be causing cancer.

Me, I'll stick with my gasoline engines. I'm fine with pissin' off some greenies.

 

My point is, people who want trucks will only buy trucks. I can fit a sheet of plywood on the roof of any car, too.

 

It looks like a cross between a mini-van and a pickup...
